Do more hits, its not hard to rack up 2 or 3 thousands hits in a day. If you cant put in the time your not going to make it on turk.
Stay on and work all day and night, or as long as you physically can. You can make that in three days easily if you stay on for 10 hours a day or so. It also depends on what requesters decide to post batches this weekend. But either way, the amount of money you can earn is endless if you're willing to put the work in.
If you're off probation, search for Vaplab and do tons of birds, get those hits up on batchez. Then qualify for the CAT from Beatty. That will allot you a bunch of dough pretty quick. Then just lurk around for a bit on here and for what you qualify for on mturk. It might take a few hours to get up there. I've only broken 30 twice. But then again, I've only been turking for 12 days.
Shit, doing better than me. Today is my 16th day on mTurk. Best day is $16 (amazingly, it's near when I started and knew f***-all about turking).

Do every decent survey that gets posted here in between any good batches that pop up. Surveys are annoying as hell, but they add up quickly. I'm worried that even if you make it to the $30/day (not really that difficult if you put in the time) that you won't get paid by everyone by Tuesday. That's the tricky part. Hopefully you can find some things with short auto approval times. Also, weekends tend to be pretty slow, so try to make more than $30 today and Monday to make up for that.
30 a day is easy. Work on high paying surveys and fill in with batches or transcriptions. You should make 30 dollars in just a few hours. If you need 175 in your bank account by Tuesday, that's probably not going to happen. Weekends tend to be slow, and even if it's decent this weekend, it's possible that you won't get the money until Wednesday depending on your bank. I know that when I withdraw on Sundays or Mondays, my bank doesn't credit my account until Wednesday :/ Also not all requesters pay out immediately and you could be waiting a while to get approved.
I don't normally have to "put in the time." This is just a "hobby" for me and I don't normally need to rack up thousands in a day. This is an extenuating circumstance. But, thanks for the input.
Yeah, I'm off probation and love the birds. I do those whenever I can. And FE. I did get the CAT qual and did the first wave. Waiting on the approval for that so the other 7 will open up. That'll help. Thanks for the input.
pays $5 and only takes a few minutes Title: Survey Requester: Decision Studies [AF48B6VKHID37] (TO) Description: Please fill out a survey Reward: $5.00 Qualifications: Masters has been granted Link: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=2J2QO2GMMEGOI0TG6VXIEA3VIR088L Powered by non-amazonian script monkeys
Thanks! As long as I know the $$ is coming, I'm good, so I'm not too worried about the approval times. I just hate doing a survey for $.25 that takes me 30 min. I'd be here forever! LOL
I'm gonna do what I can, so hopefully it'll pan out. Even if I got half of it, I'd be happy. The strain on our budget that $175 will do isn't possible right now, so I gotta turk. I think my bank usually takes 2 days. Not too worried about the approvals/pay outs as long as I know it's on its way. I've done 1 transcription job in my first days as a turker, but it took me so long and was so nerve-wracking that I wasn't sure I'd ever do another one. Do you have any suggestions for quick $$ on those, like who are the best/easiest requesters?
Not all batches are created equally though. I wouldn't suggest wasting time on something like Food Essentials since you need the money by Tuesday since they take 15 days to approve. Oscar isn't really THAT bad of an idea since they pay almost instantly. Keep a close eye at the auto approve time when you go to jump into a batch. Birds usually pay out the next day, so they are good. Then there are batches like the Math ones at 8pm. You're not going to actually make any money to give a shit about them. They are only worth doing if you want to chit chat in here or compete with other people about doing the most. Even if you get 30 in, which is considered a lot by those math standards, that is only $2.40. If you haven't used up all of your crowdflower and crowdsource spots you can do easy URL/Search rankings for .14 and .16. Newbies can usually do a lot of those. Doing a lot of surveys that are $1+ can really add up as well. Also you want to make sure you have the money by Monday so you can transfer it before 7PM so you can have it on Tuesday.
Every day "5 dollar survey, takes 2 mins" "3 dollar survey, takes 30 secs" "7 dollar survey, takes 10 mins" "50 cent/min batch"
For transcription, I usually do Speechink non-verbatims. Download it, slow down the audio to 50%, and you should make about 7/hour. They give you a lot of time to do it, so you can take breaks from it when high paying stuff comes along. It's a good filler though
My favorite Speechink is when they have you transcribe movies. They pay $45 a pop for an hour and half, plus sometimes the movies are actually pretty good. Pick out teen movies or action movies. They usually don't have a huge vocabulary and are the easiest to type up.
How do you find the non-verbatim ones? I'm almost in the same position as craftyturk. I got abruptly put on academic probation and now I have to pay out of pocket this semester. 40% is due by first day of school (26th) so I need roughly $600. I know I can't make that all here so I'll probably have to drop a class or 2.
Oh absolutely! Honestly, I tend to only do surveys that have been posted here with a time so I know roughly how long they'll take. Or ones that are really high paying and I know will be worth it. I friggin hate surveys, ugh. To get started on transcription, I really like Crowdsurf. I love their interface, and they're quick little snippets so they're easy to get your feet wet with. Unless you come on a time when someone that's impossible to understand is on there. I don't auto-accept those, I skip till I find one I can work with.
