I'm curious about these AdultNet rejections, if they're the titles. I've literally only gotten one rejection from them and I knew it was coming because I used the exact same title on two HITs in the same batch without thinking. Done thousands and I've surely duplicated many times across separate batches, I've never known them to be rejection heavy.
Oh great... The last address the IRS has on me is probably 3 addresses back, because I spent almost 5 years taking care of my mother and had no income for taxes at all. I called the payments number today, and a nice girl talked to me, being all reassuring, and a few hours later I got yet another of the generic letters about faxing information. (I had faxed everything I could possibly think of yesterday) I get that they have to get their ducks in a row, but this has gotten ridiculous. Add the fact that there are NO physical mailing addresses in this town to the whole IRS thing, and I will end up losing my account too. Never mind that Amazon is happy enough to take my money for their other side of things without blinking an eye. BLEH...
I had a relative who came over from Germany after the 1st world war and she has million dollar bills and would talk about taking a wheel-barrel full of money to the store to get bread. Not dollars but reich marks or something.
I had my town wiped off the map from a tornado, though, and lots of people lost a TON of money, valuables, etc. If your emergency fund is a stack of cash and your house blows away, you don't have much of an emergency fund. It makes sense to me to keep $1000 in cash. That's not life-changing if you lose it, it could get you many tanks of gas and some nights in a hotel and food to eat, but more than that? Seems excessive and makes me nervous.
As I said earlier, I've done well over 10,000 of those titles without a single rejection, until the 5 I got today from yesterday's batch. With the new changes like blocking some common overused words, I think they might have made some other rejection changes. In my case, I believe it was from typos which significantly affected the quality of those sentences.
Nah, the point is to have both cash in hand, and cash in an account. I agree that keeping your whole life's savings in cash is not a good idea.

Wonder if Amazon got HIT with an audit by the IRS. They've really locked down Payments in the last year or so. That Stellar thing might've tipped off the IRS that Amazon Payments was a potential avenue for laundering/cleaning money. Remember we used to be able to send money fee free back and forth?
http://www.coinsetter.com/bitcoin-news/2014/08/05/mechanical-turk-the-first-stellar-exchange-1299 Last Summer, maybe earlier, there was a launch of a new cryptocurrency called Stellar. Unlike other Cryptos, there wasn't traditional mining. A specific percentage was allocated to be given out through signups. The catch was that there needed to be Facebook authentication, thus create a limited scarcity. Since the Stellars were trading at a specific price per thousand, people were hopping on Mturk and offering a lower price per thousand and arbitraging the spread, meaning they would pay X and quickly trade them for a higher Y price. In the first few days there were entire pages with new requesters simply for the Stellar crap. People started to complain we were being ripped off and demanded Mturk remove all of the Stellar HITs. It eventually happened and they disappeared. A guy wrote up a piece called "How I accumulated 2-Million Stellar in Less Than 24 Hours" https://lockerdome.com/news.ycombinator.com/6849557472624660 It detailed his use of Mturk to accumulate a large number of this cryptocurrency. However, the story appears to be deleted from where it was originally published. Summaries, like the one I liked, still seem to exist but not the original. Just a hunch, but I'm guessing the wrong people saw what this guy did and might've went after him for financial crimes or that someone from FinCEN got into Amazon's ear. I don't remember precisely when, but not longer after the Stellar event did Amazon Payment take away the non-business send payment option. edit: Oddly enough, it looks like the Stellar stuff was almost exactly a year ago.
wtf was that.... also if shit truly hits the fan one of the most valuable things will be a bottle of liquor. I keep my cabinet stocked.
