It's not just that. This girl plays extremely physical. Plus, she is about a foot taller than all the other girls. She throws elbows, she plays dirty. I know because she was on our team last year that I was assistant for. I have a team full of girls that haven't played before and weigh about half her size and half her height. Not sure if it is just bruised and swollen or if it is worse. We elevated it and wrapped it and will check in the morning to see what the damage is like. Thanks, but your words are kinda harsh considering that these are 3rd and 4th grade girls. This isn't high school level even. It's a fun league designed to teach the girls the basics of the game. Everyone gets a trophy no matter where they place. It's more like a stepping stone for future sports. At this level, there shouldn't be anywhere near the physicality of the level you imagine. But, then again, you are entitled to your opinion. That's what makes the internet great, right?

Like I said, the game has the potential to get physical at any level. YES, even for 4th graders, that's why even lil amateur leagues for the boys & girls club have waiver papers that state risks for serious injury. Highly unlikely at that level, but always a possibility. A person should always be prepared for that. I hope there's no structural damage to the knee and she's able to get back on the court soon if that's what she wishes to do.

Thanks, and I guess that most parents don't expect that kind of physicality at this level, you are right. That being said, I tell my girls to do their best and don't let these things get them down. She still wants to play and even asked to go back out after I sat her out. She isn't a quitter and wouldn't let something like this hold her back. We didn't sign waivers or anything, though that would probably have been in the best interest of the organizer of the league. No, she said a baseball. Not sure why, but that's what she said.
