I work on CV occasionally when they email me about bonus offers. I was pretty excited when I got access because I thought the full-length transcripts would need only minimal editing (grammar, punctuation, timing, etc.), but in my experience it takes 2.5-3x the length of the video to fix [INAUDIBLE] tags, incorrect/missing sentences and serious syntax errors. I guess the review HITs on mturk are just auto-accepted and spammed or some transcriptions are not reviewed before they go to CV. It could be good filler work, though, and sometimes you'll catch a really interesting full-length lecture or He-Man cartoon. I've had a few $100 days when they offered really good bonuses ($.25-.30/minute) and you can qualify for higher-paying quality check tasks if you do excellent work on the regular.

I do work on CV but I do mostly Speaker ID and transcription reviews. Unless the full length transcripts are short, they're really not worth it. The other reviews are just double checking other people's reviews so they go much faster. I haven't been working them as much because I've been doing more CSurf stuff cuz the bonus was a little bigger and I've been lazy with CV. Give it a shot, you might like it.
I have a degree in English and am not too bad of a typist and so the transcription stuff interests me. Do you guys have any suggestions for getting started with CrowdSource? Like, which of their HITS would be good to start with... I've downloaded their guide and believe I earned some kind of qual of theirs already.
I do CV as filler work. It's not too bad if you're selective about which ones you check. I typically do it early in the morning when it's slow and sometimes on the weekends. It usually boosts my income by at least $100/week which is nice. Especially when they're offering good bonuses.

CrowdSource isn't what you're looking for, it's CrowdSurf. They usually have tons of transcription HIT's posted on Turk. After you do a certain number of them and you have quality work, they will invite you to their own personal transcription website called Crowd Virtualizer. I prefer to work in CV because I'm not actually transcribing, I'm fixing other people's transcription errors.
