Praying for good news!! I can understand why you chose what you did. My 6 year old loves school and everything about it, but from what I gather from my homeschooling friends, their kids are still able to be "kids" so to speak. Testing is so over powerful in our schools. It makes me sad.
That makes sense! My son is in the best elementary school in our county and we have 26! I can't complain a bit about the education there. I worked in a high school, and I've seen a lot! I will say that the kids that came to me from homeschooling were always well behaved and they were typically better students overall!
Yeah, it's odd. When I first started turking a couple months back I made more money in the morning, lately I am making more between 9-midnight.
Why's it so slow, shouldn't these college kids be doing research or something, it's slower than the surveys over the summer....
DOn't even get me started on standardized testing. I'm so thankful my kids are good testers but I was horrible at it. I looked a lot stupider than I was due to standardized testing. I see a timer and I instantly forget everything. It's horrible. And it's too much pressure. AND the teachers hate it as well. They have lost all flexibility to TEACH what they want. The joy has been kind of zapped out of it all for many of them. Teach to the test. So much fun...

Yeah, it's ridiculous. I tell teachers up front that if they teach to the test or freak my kids out about the test, it won't do them any good in our household. I tell my kids that the testing is more about the effectiveness of a teacher than it is about their knowledge. My kids are all in advanced placement classes, so I feel there is less teaching to the test, but it's still there. Telling my kids it's not them that are being tested takes the pressure off and while their friends are freaking out my kids are laughing. Childhood isn't what it used to be. It's really pretty sad.
It's still ok for later day crew because graveyard is near maxing earlier and earlier so the later hits are less affected
