Yesterday I wanted to make a thread for the first time in months but apparently didn't call it properly when asking if anyone had called it or whatever
What's going on here? I was in another thread and went to reply and it said invalid. Are we fighting over who starts it again? Really?
I really don't see a reason to fight. I called it first, then fox replied saying he 'kind of' wanted to do it after the fact.
I went to look at that post and you said, "Is anyone making tomorrow's thread yet?". Sounded like you were just asking. To avoid any confusion, just state it. "I'll make the thread for...(date)".
I'm on your side as far as it's reasonable to have people say if they want to make a thread to keep things in order and what not, I just didn't know we couldn't ask politely if anyone was making it and wait for a response without someone then calling dibs, which goes way too far into the realm of not worth it for me wanting to make a lame May the Fifth be with you thread with liquor fifths because I was a wee bit tipsy, and a wee bit childish on "calling it." In other words, I guess I just assume if someone asks about something they're being polite in it's cool if someone does it, but implying if not they'd like to, not that they needed to hop in. But even typing this is way, way too much effort about the subject so I'm going to just...yeah. I call May 5th 2017 if I'm still here to make my stupid thread. Edit: For the record I find this funny because drama is entertaining and helps get through the turk day and I don't mind at all.
Yes, I understand I could have said it. Didn't know it was a competition to call it instead of asking politely. It's extremely clear.
The whole thread calling stuff over here has become ridiculous. If someone asks to make it in a reasonable manner, let them make it for God's sake.
There is really only one problem and its the person that only shows up to bitch about things and to make the thread.
But that's the thing, when you ask and someone else then calls it (after like a 30 some minute wait), then it shouldn't go back to the person, but the person that called it, wouldn't you agree? How about, someone asked, I said I'll make it, then the person that asks made it anyways, disregarding the person saying that they would make it. Even going by his own 'rules,' he broke them. This has nothing to do with the overall rules of making the thread.
Im sorry, I really dont give a shit about making the thread, but why does someone who only shows up for 30 minutes a night have so much power over it when there are clearly others that want to do it and are here all day?
I think everyone who wants to start the threads should put up a $5 hit each and let us vote on who we want to make the thread. Whoever has the biggest bonus gets my vote.
Nanaki happens to be here every night. There were plenty of days where no one wanted to make the thread. So it fell on him. If you look back on the previous months, you can see that he mostly made the thread when no one called it. Usually there's less than 10 people on at this hour. I don't see a problem now with Nanaki wanting to make the thread daily and if someone wants to, they can. That doesn't stop anyone else from making it.
how is that 'so much power'? I just replied that I wanted to make the thread when he asked. Only after I replied, he said he wanted to make the thread. Let's say you're right with others wanting to do it though. I waited about 30 minutes after Fox asked if anyone wanted to make the thread, but no one replied. If others wanted to do it why didn't they post something about it? If you are talking about Fox, he's been making threads over the days so it's not like he never had a chance to make it. In fact he's been making it more than me recently. Everyone always had opportunities to make it. I never had any power before or now. All they had to do was post something in the thread saying they would make it so other people would know.
