Are these associated with the University of Utah? A quick Google turned that up. If so, I would go directly to their IRB and deal with them. There was a great letter written by another forum member you can use as a template if you want. I wouldn't waste time dealing with a grad student given that type of account issue. If it's a university, the IRB will handle it quicker and actually know what they're doing. Edit: There is also a Natural Language Processing (NLP) lab at University of Texas, which has the term "crowdsourcing" right on its home page. So it seems like the term "NLP" is affiliated with multiple universities. If you can narrow it down to which one set up the HITs you were rejected on, I would bypass the requester, forget about contacting anyone at Turk, and go straight to their IRB. The IRB likely has a phone number and email you can contact.
