Thanks for the feedback! My partner is currently paying the rent / bills since I've been unemployed since March so I don't really have a set minimum as a goal. He's a civil engineer and makes over 100K / year so we're stable financially. I'm just doing this so that I can contribute to our bills / rent until I get a real job. Unfortunately when I lost my job (relapsed on heroin) I picked up a misdemeanor for stealing food so it's been very difficult for me to get a job, and I normally work in Healthcare (was a surgical tech for an eye surgeon) but getting a job back in that field with a criminal record is proving extremely difficult. TL;DR: No set minimum goal, just trying to make as much as I can. Thanks again for the feedback!

As for getting to >1000 HITs approved, I'm workin on it! I have 443 Approved, 1 Rejected, and 194 Pending HITs. If it wasn't for my hard cap of 100 / day I would probably be >1000 by now. I have a lot of free time while my partner is at work. Only 2 more days left of my probationary period though!! =-D

seems like a lot of new turkers have joined up in the last few months. more than the usual amount anyway. hope requesters do the same.
I didn't notice 'til now that I made over 10 bucks in under 100 hits on my third day of turking ever! That's pretty good for a newbie, right? It has taken me a max of 2 hours to get my 100 hits each day.
Someone posted an image on Imgur about great ways to make legit money online and it made the front page, so maybe a lot of people got turned onto Turking from that. That's how I found out about Turking. Imgur has quite a bit of traffic, and a front page image on Imgur gets a lot of attention. That and also, right after the holiday season, a lot of people are looking for ways to bounce back from all their holiday debt!
I'd say probably 50% of new turkers won't stick with it. So many people give up before the 10 day period ends. The Stay at home moms website tries to promote mturk all the time but all those women think this place is too hard and confusing.
Haha, kind of like the Gym with all the 'New Year's Resolution' people. By the time Valentine's Day comes around, 95% of them are ghosts.
Not bad at all for not having TM(turkmaster) and hit scraper. Once you figure those out you're going to make more indefinitely. IMO if you're not hurting for cash just really focus on hitting 5k approved before trying to go for good money days. It's when the most hits will open up for you. After your trial period is over try to set your goal to $20 a day if you're able to work at peak hours and see how you do. I doubt you'll have trouble hitting it.

Until I get a job back in Healthcare, I'm treating MTurk as my job. I will definitely take your advice on setting a $20/day goal for myself once I'm done with my probationary period. Goals are always good and that seems reasonable for someone with my limited experience. Hopefully by the time my probation is over (2 more days) I'll be well versed with Turkmaster, Hitscraper, and Pandas. Thank you so much for giving me the time to help me out with this. i was at 45$ around 2 pm. then i took a "nap" stupid. didn't wake up till late afternoon. oh well, still an okay day.

Mmmm work seems to be at it's most steady flow from around 1-9pm(sometimes later) EST. Turk is extremely unpredictable. Could be completely dead one hour and then end up making $30 the next.
