If you could tell a rookie a couple of things to maximize their dollars and time, what would you tell them? (Me.)

Check these links out, useful posts about scripts to use and beginner hits to do. Aside from that, good luck and just keep learning you will figure it all out in no time. http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?15157-How-To-Scripts-for-Newbies http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?14750-Need-numbers-Look-here!
scripts are way too techie for me. I just look for the batches I know I can do well and focus on those. If I can't find any batches by searching I do surveys.
You should Atleast get hitscraper. It takes less than 5 minutes to install and is extremely worth it. It's not as complicated as you may think .
Your missing out by not using scripts. Scripts can easily turn a crappy or moderate batch into a good batch. I mean just look at adult RnR no one really thinks those are worth doing without scripts but with scripts they are actually fairly good. Also some scripts like hit database just add nice functionality and organizational things. I mean while scripts aren't absolutely necessary it is better to have them then not.
I just don't understand them and it is just too techie for me. I mean I guess they can be an asset but for me I just don't use any
Completely agree with this. Of all the scripts I've installed, this one has to be the best. That and the Turkopticon Add-on.
Evenin', folks. I've enjoyed my turk light week, but I need to start pulling in the bucks again soon. xD
Also, bleh. Speaking of RNR adult image hits, I can't seem to do them. This HIT requires the SpamQualForMultipleImagesCorrect Qualification with a value that is less than 13. Your value is 13. The test associated with this qualification can not be re-taken.
