I have tried both Firefox 14 and Internet Explorer 9, and the security features of both browsers have interfered with the completion of hits. I used IE the most, because I thought it was the most insecure, but I still have problems. A security notification appears at the bottom of the browser window, I click the appropriate button to tell it to let the page do what it wants to, then the page reloads and the hit says "you already submitted this hit" when I never even got a chance to fill anything out! Is anybody else having this problem, and what do you recommend to get around it?
I doubt if there is a fix for this. Most of the problems are caused by the requester's sloppy coding and lack of proper testing. Every day I have to report hits that don't load or like one yesterday had an invalid link to the instructions in both IE and Firefox. I sent a message to the requester, but didn't hear back (surprise!). There are several regular requesters (WorldsOyster and Conjecture Corp) who have been labelled as attack sites by Firefox. I prefer to believe Firefox in this instance because its less than 1%. I would never try IE to "get around" the problem.
Welcome ronzie! I use an older version of FF for this very reason. They put out an update and make their users become unwilling and unpaid beta testers. That's fine if you use the Internet only for fun, but when you use it for your income, it's a nightmare. Good luck getting around their bugs, and good luck on mturk.
