I know I'm responding really late and the topic has moved on. Just got back from getting food (Chipotle's! Fuck yeah!) and realized I had left pretty much mid-conversation. Oops! Ha! Is it cheesy? Yeah, a bit. But you are far from alone. Cost of living is skyrocketing here because people are moving in large numbers from all over the place. To answer your original question, it's not too bad to get a job here because it is a growing metropolitan area, but everything is getting more expensive and competitive, because it is a growing metropolitan area. There are A LOT of call center jobs. Companies must like our general lack of accent (though they still hire people with accents from other areas, equal opportunity employment and all that).
