Hello all! Fairly new turker here, just hit 150 HITs submitted and my first bonuses in ($3.25 so far, not bad) (this after a 12 day fight with Amazon Payments over "failed verification"-finally won) and about to submit my SI SDH test, having already passed their base-tier Confidentiality test and Ratings test. I'd like to Turk and freelance as a job substitute this summer (currently living off of a $400/mo security gig so I obviously don't need much, but that's ending soon and none of the classes I need are offered this summer, and all my meatworld job searching has resulted in exactly one "maybe" that later became a "no."), and I've already landed a few minor freelance gigs through other sites. They're all sporadic tho, and Turking has a certain level of reliability to it, which I like. I'll still search in Meatworld, but it's nice to know I can come back to my computer and at least cover my gas for the day. Plus there's a turking community - seems the e-freelance world is a bit cutthroat. Turking, not so much. So uh, hi!

There are also a lot of helpful threads with information to aid you in turking floating around! Be sure to get yourself an avatar right away! You can edit your avatar in your "settings" section.
