I am from India and tried to registered few years ago but amazon denied the registration at that time, but to my surprise I received e-mail on Wed, May 25, 2016 stating that You previously requested to join the Amazon Mechanical Turk marketplace. We are writing to provide an update on your request, and offer a way to get started immediately. And I joined the same day i.e. on may-25-2016. The e-mail also stated that If you’d like to get started immediately, we can offer you the ability to join the Amazon Mechanical Turk marketplace, but without the bank account disbursement option. This means that initially you will have the ability to transfer your earnings to your Amazon.com gift card balance. In the future, you may receive the option to transfer your earnings to a linked bank account. Right now I can see only one option to withdraw earnings i.e. Transfer to Amazon.com gift card. I don't want to use this option. Please tell me that how much time I will have to wait to show option of Transfer to Bank account. I mean probably how many days or months they will take to initiate the bank account transfer for me. Please reply.
OK, dumb newbie question... is it always this slow in the summertime when school is out? When does it get better? Forgive me if it has been answered a million times already. I am old, cranky and frustrated.... LOLOL!! Thanks in advance for the answers!! :O)
Welcome to the forum! Yes it's slow in the summer when college students are off. When they return in the fall, there should be more studies for them to put out.
Hello! Semi-newb here; I just finished my 10 probation. I'm trying to figure out how to tell if I've done a HIT before. Last time I asked this, I was directed to a script to help. I have a few scripts now. I think the one for this is MTurk Hit Database MK II. I was trying to copy and paste a pic of my scripts on tampermonkey, but I don't think this forum will let me add pictures to this post. Does anyone have experience with this script or another option they use to figure out if they already did a HIT? Thanks!

I've done a little over 200 HITs, but that's over a period of a few weeks. I am still definitely very new to this, and I'm trying my best to get the hang of it despite there being a LOT of little things to learn. I've searched this forum a few times for a kind of lingo/mturk slang guide so I can start understanding half of what people say around here, but no luck. Does one exist by any chance?

Hi I recently posted about finally passing the 1000 hit mark. Up until this time I have done 95% survey work. I would like to get into doing batch hits to hopefully increase my earnings. I am wondering where to start. Does anyone know of good batches to work on for a decent earning potential? I have scripts installed, I just don't know where to start as far as batch work goes. There's so many things on there, it can be overwhelming.
Use the turkmaster script and add some of these for batch numbers: http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?33318-Common-Useful-Panda-links I like mylikes (2 seconds, although NSFW), IWS (10 seconds, maybe NSFW but very rarely run into one) and just a "categorization" search every 15 seconds.
If you can do 100 1c HITs in an hour, you're making less than if doing 200/hour. But right now you need numbers to reach your first 5000, which is the next step to getting better-paying hits. So you can't worry too much about making money now. Try the HITS of Scoutit, p9r, 411Richmond. These are especially good if you're a fast touch typist. These requesters ALWAYS have HITS up, so you don't have to search long. I don't touchtype, so Scoutit's stuff woud take me forever. The most important script to learn is TurkMaster, and it's complex. Hey guys! Super excited to be here. Last night was my first night turking, and although I only got about $3 total, that's still $3 more than I had before!! A bit about me, I am a recent ComSci graduate who is still looking for a FT job, but in the mean time I might as well get some cash on the side while I'm sitting around waiting for people to call me back. I have a slew of questions, so please bear with me!! 1. Am I too late to the mturk party? Browsing through the Great HITs board I see a lot of you guys have been here for years and already have Master Qualifications and I know these aren't exactly handed out. I guess my question is that, if I put time into mturk, can I still eventually attain these heavy qualifications or are the slots pretty much filled by more hardcore workers? 2. What exactly does the HIT number mean next to certain jobs? Is that how many hits I can fill out or is that how many HITs exist in total for all users? I understand the concept of batch jobs, but some HITs will show a total of 2 or 3 next to them. Can I fill these out multiple times or am I limited to 1 HIT? I ask because I do not want to fill my account with rejections simply due to my ignorance. 3. Honesty. How honest are you when it comes to filling out surveys? For example, earlier this morning I saw a survey that was directed towards sports fans. Personally, I do not care for sports, but I know that filling out a prelim survey stating this I will automatically be screened from participating. How do you guys handle these situations? I don't have any children, but if I see a survey that asks (and I know it's for the screen), do I just lie and say that I do? This one is probably subjective. 4. Will more HITs appear to me as my qualifications go up? As of now, I have about 50 HITs under my belt and I know I am missing out on a lot because I have not been on the site long enough. Will other HITs just pop up as my numbers increase? 5. I have noticed on certain batch HITs that if you go over a certain limit then everything you have done will be rejected. How do you guys handle these situations when using PandAs with auto-refreshers? 6. As a new user, I see a lot of people split on how I should be spending my time. Personally I think I should just be going for numbers with simple batch HITs in large quantities. Is this the correct approach? 7. This is another question I see people split on. Should I be using the filter just to see what is available to me? Like, should I just ignore all qualifications requests (not tests)? As a new user, I imagine most of my requests will be ignored since I have not built up any credibility. I also am unsure how qualifications are handed out and the level of difficulty they are to obtain. 8. A lot of this is trial and error for me, and I find that I am returning more HITs than I would like. Sometimes websites aren't fully functional or if I get screened by some prelim I am forced to return the HIT. I know these aren't weighted as hard as incomplete jobs, but I still would like to keep my account clean at such an early age. How badly will returns hurt me in the long run? That's it for now, thanks to whoever read that giant wall. I know a lot of people here are trying to 'get rich quick' but I feel like I have a realistic grasp on what mTurk can do for me. You should never provide false information in any interaction you have with either mTurk or its requesters. There is nothing subjective about it.
100 hits the first 10 days Hello, I thought I was allowed 100 hits during my first 10 days. I'm on day 7 with 92 hits. Mturk won't let me do any more. Anyone know why? Thanks
Hello everyone. I hope I am posting this in the right place? I joined Mturk many moons ago but do to a sluggish internet connection, I had to give up on my endeavour at the time. Finally, I am back with a much better connection and ready to work. I was told initially to set up my Amazon Payments. This is where things went south! I want to use my EIN instead of my SSN, which should be totally acceptable according to Amazon TOS and the IRS. We are independent contractors after all, right? I have gotten so many nonsensical emails from every dept. of Amazon, it is unreal. I was told to get a personal account and use my SSN? I have gotten emails from "Amazon Resellers" (the link I was told to click on regarding my "suspended account") telling me I don't have an account. Welllll, that's because I'm not a reseller! I am so confused. I would just like to have my account verified, using my EIN, so I can continue working. I don't necessarily want to "kick Mturk to the curb" but I have been patiently trying to rectify this situation for nearly a month! Any suggestions about where to go to communicate with someone who can actually handle this simple matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
I used to Mturk a few years ago but quit for a while. Now that I want to start up again, I need to verify my Amazon Payments account. Problem is, my only address for receiving mail is a PO box. I have been going around and around with customer support, both through email as well as phone and chat. No luck . I rent a furnished condo and all the utility bills go to my landlord, so no luck there either. This is the SAME bank account I have been using for years for 3P seller payments on Amazon, but apparently that doesn't mean anything to AZ Payments. Anyone have a way around this?
What should I be looking for starting out for fast quick HITS to raise my count? Seems a lot of HITS take way to long for how much they are giving out. (sub $.10). I have a bunch of scripts for higher paying HITS and those are working good.
See if they will accept a letter written by your bank verifying your physical address and PO Box. The payments side of mturk is in India (at least it used to be a few years ago) and the customer service is in Seattle.
