Sub: Important Information about Your Mechanical Turk Earnings Disbursements

    Dear Mechanical Turk Worker,

Mechanical Turk is pleased to announce that you will soon be able to transfer your earnings through direct deposit to your bank account. The direct deposit feature will be available by March 5, 2015.

If you would like to receive a final Indian Rupee check disbursement, please request a Rupee check disbursement by February 26, 2015. After February 26, 2015 you will not be able to disburse to a Rupee check.

When your Mechanical Turk account is enabled for direct deposit to your bank account, the new “Transfer Earnings” page will describe the process for setting up your bank account to receive your earnings. You will be able to set up your bank account for direct deposit by March 5, 2015.

Please note that your ability to disburse your earnings to an Amazon.com gift certificate will be unaffected by this change.

If you have additional questions, please contact customer service here:
    https://www.MTurk.com/MTurk/contactus

    Best regards,
    The Mechanical Turk Team

Really happy to receive this mail.

Much of worries comes to an end and can work without any hesitation. I guess the fees would be same as earlier and enrollment or transfer should be easier for us to link with bank.

It was glad reading this when I opened my dashboard today. We'll see about that processing fee, hope it won't be there. There's a chance that this processing fee won't be applied if they do it through Paypal and use the Paypal's Mass Payment Feature (bulk payment option).

Paypal is Amazon's competitor. That't why they were using their own payment system Amazon Payments.

We have to wait and see. I am also having same doubt whether they can transfer to any nationalized bank or only to private bank like HDFC, ICICI. We have to wait till March 5th to get full details of it.

No way, it is gonna be be for all banks, Direct deposits are not for any particular banks, its a common term for withdrawing to our bank account.

I believe they just need account no, IFSC code, branch name, and PAN card no.

Through the Direct Deposit facility one pays around Rs.2 per dollar as conversion fee.
Through the old check system we paid ($4*60) Rs. 240 + Rs.1 per dollar conversion fee. Hence, workers now save approx. Rs.240 per withdrawal transaction.
Thank you Amazon for finally listening to our prayers.
