I'm trying to figure how come Amazon is not allowing me to edit MTURK account, which has been suspended for not being good standing. It's kind of weird to be in poor standing, while I've never committed any crimes related fraud, embezzlement, or tax evasion. I've also have not had any bad transactions on Amazon.com or any other websites, like eBay or Paypal. I haven't even gotten the chance or the email to verify my identity with actual paper work. I called into the Amazon hotline to try fix the problem, and they said there is nothing that I can do or they could do to fix my account. I never was told what is making it get denied. I don't know if it is a name change or mediocre credit.

I wanted to provide some insight based off an email and subsequently the updated Customer Agreement that Amazon has implemented very recently. They sent this email out yesterday, but I'm unsure when they updated this agreement. However, I'm sure this will shine some light on the situation, and I'm very sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

    From here:

It does go on to say this:

Later on it goes into detail about what exactly limited functionality entails:

So it seems to be that the limited functionality no longer includes receiving payments, which would make it difficult to work on amazon any longer. How long this has been in effect, I'm unsure, and I have a feeling that it may have been implemented for a while and they're finally "cracking down", so to speak, on international workers receiving payments while their accounts shouldn't have been. This is just speculation, but hopefully that provides some context for this.

Do the people who have been suspended even have fully functioning Amazon Payments accounts? I thought that non US workers only have the skeleton accounts where you can only change the cards as stated above. I've had that since they changed the way everyone was paid in mid 2014? It doesn't affect my ability to turk because everything just goes to gift cards. I was under the impression Indian turkers didn't need it either because they have direct bank deposits.

You know what, I'm not quite sure. I do know that there were changes in the user agreement, but I'm not familiar with it enough to know. I thought that was an interesting bit in the user agreement, but you might be right in that that isn't something that has any real bearing on the situation.

It probably does have some bearing on the situation if they have fully functioning Amazon Payments accounts because you're definitely not supposed to unless you're from the USA. I had one up to where they introduced two-step payments to US workers in 2014 and from then on it's just been like a bare bones limited account with nothing much there except the card I use for buying on Amazon. I never get transactions to it it's always at 0.00 balance. If you do have one and then they can't verify it then that might be where you get screwed.

There are two kinds of block , soft and hard. If the requestor did Hard Block , You will receive a warning mail from mturk . more hard block in short span of time lead to suspension . Another is soft Block , similar to this kind of warning message . This kind of blocks need NOT to be worried.

Soft block does not affect as bad just stops you from doing hits and hard block goes against your account.
