Got a puppy, favorite nephew, and his three not-so-good siblings over. I took them swimming, got them baths, fed them all dinner, and they are laying down. All by 9pm. I feel accomplished, but I'm starving and haven't ate all day. I didn't expect to do all this especially since I feel super sick. But they're family and when their other grandmother and aunt needs a break I'm the only one they trust with all of them since most other family members can't handle them all together. I think that's a good thing, maybe not. We definitely clash a lot with how they are parented and taught lessons.

This is why I can't babysit for people and I hate being forced to send my kid to my mother-in-laws when I have school and my husband works. I thought for the longest time I hated kids, but it turns out I just hate parents. My kid is awesome. I know awesome kids. Most kids are just fed junk, spoiled rotten and are let to control the situation. I thought I wanted to teach and when I went into a third grade (normal) class in my area and 2 kids could read, I knew I couldn't do this. I'd end up fired, telling parents off.

Okay, so this stuff is what MTurk was seriously for. I mean the other stuff... surveys probably produce low-quality data, which causes HUGE downstream problems... I mean, now that I see how much is done here, I wonder when I am reading a scientific journal, if some of the odd numbers that come up are from someone on MTurk just being a jerk or not paying attention or putting the wrong things on purpose... and some of the other stuff would be better gotten through elance or oDesk or something like that... someone with better screening controls that MTurk seems to have. For this reason, I now see most psychological studies wherein any work was done online as useful as this The quoted link is the only "cool story bro" entry I have ever come across while reading medical journals. I STILL don't know what it is all about... But this stuff? golden. If that guy is a REAL musician, he could write a song about his answers... he could give 5 cents and get away with it, probably, then only have like 20 HITs available. For an artist or someone that just wants a hilarious story, or some web content, that's the best spent dollar you could think of. I mean, imagine if you were a writer for a newspaper and you were going to talk about "crowdsourced labor" and you posted this to test it out? Golden. Or what about if you were writing a book about spirituality? The list goes on... Basically this guy could have had fun and entertained himself AND bought a great party/first date/etc. story to tell people for the rest of his life for the price of a McDouble. In fact, I have thought about being a requester to do stuff like this... I'm not joking. Who cares? Throw in 3 dollars every now and then, and come up with silly and entertaining things for people to do for a nickel. Laughs for days.
