Hi! Thanks for the guide. It inspired me to take the test and start doing hubpages! I'm new, I just started last night, but to me a hit per minute seems nearly impossible! Do you read the whole article?
For the test, absolutely but outside of the test not really, I rarely read an entire article i just read a few sentences throughout the whole. I mean really if they wanted us to read the whole article they would pay us more their guide even says that they should take about a minute to rate. The thing is if I find myself having read the entire article, that's usually how i know it deserves a higher rating If it could capture my attention in that endless drone of garbage people post then it must be decent.
A lot of the time I rate grammar higher than substance, which is something you have to watch out for because it's hard to rate something low on grammar without it being absolute garbage.. and if you rate to many grammars as 5-6 they start telling you to spread out your ratings. But yeah absolutely and I do occasionally rate organization higher if substance was pulled down by grammar.
I also read a fair bit of the article to determine whether or not the grammar is consistent, but I never take over a minute.
Wish I would have read this before I got cut off (again). Their QC hasn't improved a bit. What a joke. Edit: After I was cut off, I got my last bonus. My score actually went UP TWO POINTS (70-->72) and they still cut me off. Maybe when your system screws up, don't leave people's scores at 70 next time. What a joke x 2.
Good luck to ANYBODY who really thinks they've got Hubpages figured out. I've done THOUSANDS of Hubpages HITs and my rating would yo-yo, but it typically was high, even as high as 99%. Then all of a sudden it dropped below 70% and nothing I could do would bring it up.
I've been doing these hits for 4 days now and one of the things I have learned is that I need to have a great deal of patience. I qualified at 98%, dropped to 91% after a few hits, went up to 94%, dropped to 93%, went to 95%, dropped to 89%, dropped to 79%, went to 85%, was stuck there for about 60 hits o_0 and now I'm at 96%. If I do too many at the $2.20 bonus, my percentage drops and in the back of my mind I suspect it has to do with them trying to control how much you make. I've averaged about $35 a day on these HITs and my average has always taken some kind of unexplained dip that has me making smaller bonuses for quite a while before climbing back up. I really hope I am overanalyzing, but I can use the method I always use to rate articles and one minute I am doing excellent and then next I have a drop.
It looks like I'm getting phased out, too--dropped to 76% after doing a bunch of their HITs yesterday. Seems kinda BS that the accuracy is more related to how many you do...I was happy to be making consistent money with them.
Sorry I didn't notice the replies here. The yo-yo is why I use hubpages as my morning income, I do 100 every morning and notice no yo-yo. I did notice before that the more you do the more it swings you around so as my guide says just do about 100 a day and you should be fine.
I think I've finally figured it out. I haven't gone below 94% for days. I HEAVILY referenced and reviewed the sample rated articles to get a very good idea of what it is THEY want. It's made a world of difference for me. Your guide is very similar to their style of rating, so I can see how you have stayed consistently above 90%. I've bookmarked this thread.
