I think a lot of you misunderstood what Dustin posted. He didn't say people were returning the Hits, which in turn led to all of you going on and on about "cherry picking", which we all know now that Dustin doesn't care as long as we do the work correctly. What Dustin said in his post about the 98-100% returns was that a dozen or so turkers were submitting the work in 10 seconds and saying that those that submitted those quick 10 second Hits were reporting that the info was "found" 98-100% of the time. Dustin used the word "return" instead of submit. So, I think in his mind he was wondering how you could find the information that fast and say you found it.

I was a bit late to the party with these, but I look forward to doing more of Dustin's hits in the future.
I understood what he meant, but it seems a lot did like me and worked on the hit prior to accepting the job. IE. We already had the information pulled up before we hit accept, not realizing it would cause any problems with timing issues. I know I have seen some requesters put a preview up that is not the actual hit that you will be working on. When you hit accept, your new hit actually shows up for you to work on. I never totally understood why requester's did this, but it makes total sense now. This is a solution I see for checking timers, I would honestly recommend this first. Although, lesson learned for me, and I'll be sure to hit accept prior to every hit from now on, even if I find I have to return some.
My post was a bit tongue and cheek hence the emoticon at the end, sorry if you didn't pick up on that. Dustin and any requester should set things up in a manner that best suits their company obviously.
I did this today and see many others have as well, of course I did fives across the board and I'm looking forward to the next batch.

Howdy folks, I've uploaded a new batch of HITs of the same project from two days ago. This batch is quite a bit smaller. I really wanted to control quality on this run so I increased the % approved requirement to 99% and I also require each worker to have the "x8 Data Worker Qualification". To obtain this worker qualification I'd prefer you either e-mail me your AMT ID (dustin@x8data.com), or find the qualification on AMT and request it there. I will be on this thread as long as I'm around my computer and I will be alerting everyone when I am away from the computer and therefore not granting qualifications immediately. Also, from feedback from you the workers, I switched around the pay structure, and the HITs that were $.08 before and everyone deemed "easy" are now $.06 and the HITs that were much tougher and paying only $.06 are now $.08. Thanks for doing the work and send me your AMT ID so I can get you qualified to start working!
I'm not sure what I did wrong or if it is AMT but it seems any requests made through AMT are not coming through to me. I have received and granted the requests that have been e-mailed to me, but nothing from AMT. So until I post differently here everyone should e-mail me to gain qualification.
I too have requested and emailed for the qual. I did some the other day and liked the work. I'm always leery of new requester but you look like you are good to go now
