sometimes after not finding an official or facebook page, I search for third party pages and in rare cases there are no yelp, urbanspoon, or other third party results with reviews. The only results are superpages, yellowbook, or other directory sites that really don't help prove or disprove the restaurant as open or closed. In these cases, I've been submitting the link to the google results in the third party slot and marking as closed/not enough info since I can't submit the HIT without any links. Is this acceptable or should I be doing something else?

Curious if any of us people who had less than 5k the last time these were around will ever have a chance to qual, thanks!

That is acceptable - either a third party link with no reviews, or the google search is good. Thanks!

We're working on a way to get new workers into our pool... we've had a lot of spammers in the past, so we're trying to whittle down the worker pool and then once we're comfortable we'll let more folks in. Stay tuned.

I've come across quite a lot over the last few batches where even if they have an official website clicking the official website search button just takes you to an error page. Really no time lost highlighting and searching the link under the address just wanted to mention it :)

Yes, we've noticed that this sometimes happens. I believe in most cases it's because we have multiple URLs in the database for that location, so it breaks the automatic link in the HIT design. Appreciate the time taken to copy and paste the real URL!

What should I do in this situation?

I find a restaurant that appears to be closed or has no available information (so I would mark it closed/not enough information). The HIT has an official URL listed in it under "restaurant details". I go to that provided URL and the website is gone/dead/for sale. When updating the address/phone number in the HIT, should I delete the URL from the official website field since it's no longer valid, or leave it there even though it's dead? Furthermore, should I paste that URL into the "official website" text box at the top or leave that empty?

    Thanks!

What do I do if I can find a lot of evidence that a specific restaurant is still open but has moved to a different location. Do I mark the location as closed or do I update the address (which is usually completely different than the original except the phone number and name of the restaurant).

I've come across a few instances where yelp doesn't list a restaurant as "closed" but instead as "moved" with a link to the new yelp review page with recent reviews.

In some other instances the official restaurant page actually mentions that they used to be located at one address but have moved to a new location.

When I have a website that's dead and leads nowhere anymore I remove it from the box since it doesn't go where it should. Hopefully I've been doing that right! I'm sure Mr Tasty will answer us soon enough lol

    Per the HIT instructions:

The address on the official website has the same street, but a different street number: if the street number is only slightly different (e.g., it may be a typo in our listing), update the address and judge it as still open. Otherwise, judge it as closed.

If it's a small difference [like the HIT has 100 Main St and the website has 110 Main St] you'd just fix the address and mark it open. But if it's moved to someplace else it would be marked as closed.

You should get rid of the URL if it's broken/dead. Thanks!

If all the other details are the same (name, phone number, etc.) then marking as open with the new address makes sense. Especially if there's explicit evidence that it's the same restaurant that has moved.

In reality this type of error isn't something we would reject. And sometimes it's a judgment call, so... use your best judgment. :)

let me this straight. to be able to do taste of the world hits you have to have a qualification value. to get the value you have to do taste of the world hits before. but to do taste of the world hits you have to have a qualification value. to get a value you have to have done them. but to have done them you need a qualification value.....

    WTF?
