I'm new to turking and have done nearly 30 hits so far, most belong to John Brelig. He approved and paid for all the hits I've done for him, and then blocked me from doing any more of his jobs. Anyone know why he would have done this if the jobs were approved?

Most requesters who block probably already approved whatever HITs led to the block. (For academic requesters, it can be as simple as not wanting you to take a survey when you already took a related one).

Jon Brelig (InfoScout) is a commercial requester, so they might have been unhappy with your work.

If you write a polite inquiry, they will probably answer .. eventually. (Don't be surprised if it takes more than a week).

Jon Brelig has reversed rejections which were my fault, merely as a courtesy.
(I did not ask them to).

It never hurts to communicate politely (except when it does hurt). ;)

    Good luck!

Am I missing something with his hits. Is the only way that can be completed is to open another window with receipt in it. I can't figure out how to be able to see all the information -- and I'm not an inexperienced Turker . . .

I don't do many of his anymore... I've switched to doing to repairing of transcriptions by 411something. It has a per line bonus which you tend to make more than with Brelig. I try to stay away from the receipt stuff myself though.

But, I'm also still trying to find my niche.

    Hi,

Do you have any idea how much time do they usually take to verify these (i.e. Identify if two receipts are the same) HITs? I worked on these HITs before 3 days, but they're all pending till now. The HITs I work on usually get verified within a day.

For that HIT, Jon Brelig takes five days to approve and pay. (Some of the other HITs have shorter autoapproval times. Getting an email response usually takes longer, although they do answer email).

Thanks a ton for such a prompt & helpful reply. Knowing that it'll take 5 days to get the results really helps, and will spare me from checking for it time and again. Kinda took a load off.

That's it for now. Have a great time. So long.

I get approved & paid immediately, within minutes, for his .05 tasks. (Extract Info from 6 Receipts)
All other jobs appear to have a 3-5 day wait period. Once I think something got screwed up in their system and they forgot to pay even at the 5 day mark. I think it was like on day 7, but they emailed and apologized for the delay. It only happened once though. If you're looking for fast cash try the "Extract Info from 6 Receipts", but use caution and pay attention to what you're doing. I have 5 rejections out of about 1100 and 4 of them are on the .05 tasks.

Yes, I stopped doing the 6 receipts summary ones because of the high chance of rejections for vague reasons. I'm at 99% rejections and want to keep it that way. I usually do their 10 cent receipts.

I've done maybe, 10 hits total, for John Brelig since I started turking 2 weeks ago. Even as a noob, I can see how his tasks (and others) are not worth doing, even for numbers. There are some good req's to get numbers for.... John Brelig isn't one of them. Just my opinion.
