I don't even have a record of when I submitted hits to this person; while I have 3 rejects in my history (1%) none of them are from him, so what's the deal? Frankly, since the pay per hits in mturk are so low, I'm not going to lose any sleep over this. Paul seems to be a troll who likes to cause trouble for others.

I wanted to let everyone know I've heard from the Requester and it was a mistake. He was trying to set up a qualification to soft block past workers and instead hard blocked them. He has reversed the hard block. He can't respond to every email and was very apologetic in his responses to me.

Mistakes happen, people are too quick to condemn before the requester even has a chance to fix it..

How do you know if yours has been reversed? Does MTurk send out another email? Or do you just have to try and do a HIT from the requester again?

EDIT: Well I just tried doing his HIT and I was able to accept it just fine. So I guess that means it was reversed.

    Exactly.

AMT should make this information visible on our worker dashboards - when the block was incurred and who imposed the block. I don’t think it is too much to ask.

Another question for those who use the extension HIT Database. How far does the database go back? Every time I clear my browser cache, my database gets deleted so I have to do it all over again, which isn't that big of a deal for me, it just takes a few minutes for it to log everything again.

But I just noticed that the database isn't showing I did anything for Paul Thibodeau. That worries me. I rely on that a lot to tell me if I did someone's HIT before.

The hit DB only goes back as far as 45 days (how many days available on your status page). You should do a backup before you clear your cache, then import the backup afterwards, if you want longer monitoring.

Hey kids...just curious, yes we all make mistakes and apparently P.T. did reverse his, but what about Mturk, they sent the email saying if it happens again ..blah blah.. will suspend acct. Do they reverse as well??? I soo don't know how so much works here. Thanks and have a fabulous day to all!!

AMT is very tight-lipped about blocking in a general sense. I can sort of understand that - they don’t want people gaming the system.

Generically speaking, I believe every worker should be able to see how many of these blocks are on record against a worker, when they were imposed and when they will fall off of the worker’s record.

With regards to the Thibodeau incident, I think AMT should email all the people affected and let them know authoritatively that the blocks have been reversed.
