    Hi all,

I am new to MTurk and I am currently trying to figure out what is an appropriate pricing strategy. My HIT is a survey whereby participants will complete 2 short narrative tasks regarding their experience and then complete some measures following each. On average, this task should take 20-30 minutes (this is based on a similar study run in a psych lab).

I have a decent grant to fund this project and so I'm wondering what is the best way to ensure quality data. I was originally thinking of paying $1.50-2.00, but now I'm thinking of reserving some funds to advertise a bonus for quality work (e.g., if your narratives are usable, you will get a bonus). It wouldnt be hard at all to receive the bonus, but would simply serve as an incentive to complete the task correctly (and there will be enough funds on reserve for everyone to potentially receive this bonus).

Is this reasonable? Does the price I'm considering seem sufficient for the amount of time?

    Thanks!

Most turkers try to find hits that pay about 10 cents per minute, but it varies based on the user. If it is 20 minutes and pays 2.00 I think that would be about fair, especially if it has a possible bonus.

^^^ What Sanurah said. I think the bonus is a nice incentive and the possibility should yield some extra effort. Sounds like you are on the right track.
