I'm a newbie here but I've been a Turker on and off for a few weeks trying to take it seriously now with another egg. I'm didn't know how to begin to search for this but. Does anyone know why on certain days I can do a ton of HITs from a requestor and on other days I can do only two or three, when I can clearly see that there are thousands there?
Ususally it is either because the requester limits the number each worker can do. The other reason may be that you did work for them before but they felt the quality was not good enough so instead of giving you a block they just say the hits are not available to you.. Crowdflower and Crowdsource are known for that..
That's what crowdflower did to me, for the transcribing, even though the only ones I ever got wrong, when they showed me what the correct way was, it was word for word, the EXACT same. This is why I won't use crowdflower anymore. Total crock of sh*t.
What do they base their decision on? I try to pick the best answer, but then get cut off and I'm thinking - what's the trick to this? Do they want the first google listing or what?
If you are referring to the crowdsource search hits they cut everyone off. I believe their limit is 20 a week for each type of those hits. Crowflower is different, if they feel your answers are not up to par they will lower your accuracy and you can't do the hit.
Ok - thanks, I think it was Crowdsource. I stopped doing them because I thought what am I doing wrong? This can't be that difficult. They asked for the best answer. Sometimes that's easy to find and sometimes it's not.
