Been lurking for a good while, and I am very thankful for all the advice I've found! I've been doing quite a few Crowdsurf transcriptions lately, but today my qualification has been downgraded 5 times. It was at 1009, but is now at 1004. I'm hesitant to do any more hits and cause my qual to drop below the minimum. I've done about 80 hits today, and my quality/accuracy/whatever score has stayed between 3.5 and 3.8, so I'm pretty comfortable I'm not turning in garbage.

It seems like if I somehow had a few really bad scores, my qualification could have dropped. But shouldn't it go back up if I had some really good ones, too? I'm a pretty careful transcriber - try to check the style guide and glossary every few days, and I even google names to make sure I spell them right.

Anyone else had this experience or any insights? I've emailed support, but I know it can take several days to get a response - maybe longer with the high volume they seem to be running right now.

Thanks for your help and happy turking!

The way their system works, your qualification score cannot go up once it hits 1000. You got -1s minus for scoring 3 on transcriptions and your 4s weren't counted because you have reached 1000. Once it gets below 1000, a 4 will give you 10 points and you can go back up to 1000. So, there really isn't anything to worry about.

Thanks for the info! I'm surprised I hadn't got the downgrade before - been doing these for at least a couple of months.

The scoring system was inactive between 4th of August and 12th of September.
