It really is interesting. He is trying to establish what moral foundations we have that are universal. One of the foundations deal with the feeling of disgust. If we find it disgusting we judge it to be morally wrong even if it really isn't. On top of the brother and sister question he shares more questions that he came up with: Like a family eating their dog after it is hit by a car. The brother and sister one seems a little less disgusting when he asks you about the guy who goes to a grocery store, buys a chicken, goes home, has sex with it, and then eats it. Yeah it gets pretty intense, but it makes you rethink what is truly morally wrong.
I don't know what survey it was. I didn't take that one, but the question came out of a book that I read for my moral ethics class. The guy who created it is trying to prove a theory and his partners are putting these surveys out there to test it.
Speaking of morality, this is another good one that just popped up. Took me 5 minutes, good TO. Title: Opinion study Requester: Simone Tang [AQ74Q2Z0O5CPI] (TO) Description: 10-minute survey for $.50! Reward: $0.50 Qualifications: HIT approval rate (%) is greater than 95, Location is US Link: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=2C4PHMVHVKCJ39UTORVJD9KV1C635G Powered by non-amazonian script monkeys
Note that is isn't any encouragement to do something dishonest with Agent Agent, especially since he is a great requester, but I have occasionally accepted multiple HITs that were similar but slightly different without any issue. If he specifies that only new workers allowed and that he will reject you if you have done work for him before, don't do them. However, if he allows you to do 4 slightly different HITs, I would (and did) do all four. He knows what he is doing when he posts new HITs. He knows full well that if he posts 4 per user, that most people are going to do all four.
http://www.amazon.com/The-Righteous...d+people+are+divided+by+politics+and+religion Here is an amazon link. It really is a good book. He does focus on Politics, but he goes way beyond that. It will change the way you do surveys on MTurk because you will see exactly what they are trying to do, and you will see a lot of the same questions mentioned in the book.
Thought - For the Rubin instructor hits, has anyone been putting Dr. as part of their name? I haven't been, but the question just popped into my head.
it's 24", or 23.6", i forget, but going from a 13.1" laptop with 1366x768 resolution to a 23-24" monitor with 1920x1080 resolution is like... i don't even know... this is ridiculous... this whole computer kicks ass, 100% funded by turk monies...
