Hello friends: Hope everyone has had a nice weekend. I have done 10 tasks for CrowdSource and he has sent me an email asking me to be a member of this group. I want to ask here because I really don't want later on to experience problems. I realize most of the hits are low pay but at least it's reliable work. Does anyone has any comments about CrowdSource. Thanks a lot. Have a great week.

Usualy crowdsource wont allow users outside US to work on their hits. There is no risk in registering with them , but you maynot be able to work on their hits if your location is not US. Their account keeps track of all your work with crowdsource and total earning from crowdsource etc.

I had once worked on a crowdsource hit whih was available to global users. Hits like those are not anymore.

When I searched for crowdsource HITs with the qualified box checked in I couldn't find any HIT that I can do... No HITs for non-US... I think... :(

Crowdsource Review in TO ---> http://turkopticon.differenceengines.com/A2SUM2D7EOAK1T

Seems that got good reviews... some with the red ones are to be ignored...

They have some HITs for the US, some for Canada and some for the UK. I believe the people who request through CrowdSource are the ones setting the restrictions.

    Their public site: http://www.crowdsource.com

Workers have a site also where they see earnings, rankings, HIT batches, etc.

Right now they have 67 batches up and I am qualified for 6. Eh.

CrowdSource is a good company, they pay fast and is fair. As stated before, there is no problem with registering with them.

CrowdSource provided me with the "E-commerce" qualification a couple of months back. They praised the article that I wrote in the qualification test. After that, I worked in one HIT, which also received good comments from them. Then my qualification was revoked on the next day, without providing any reason. I have not received any satisfactory reply from them till date on this issue.

I see that setting qualification by a requester is a decent way to block other workers... right?

If you are from India, Crowdsource will block you. They may grant you a qual initially, but once they find out you are from India, they will revoke your qualification. Often times this is very unfair because the work does not require any specific language requirements. I look past CS many times because of their stringent requirements and how they handle the entire workforce. It is obviously not fair, but we live in a world where many things are unfair. That is why, based on principle, I skip much of their work.

Thank you friends for all your comments. Crowdsource has been sending me emails every day. I have tried to take his 0.15 hits. I have an 8 hour job and I come home tired so I don't have time to write 200 words essays to make more money. I live here in Arizona, USA. I just started last week and I'm almost at $10.00. I got rejected 3 times and I'm careful about the requester. I learned through Riaz about Turkopticon and I am so thankful because I can check there who is a scammer and who pays right away. So now I check every day which Hit to accept. I do this to help me with gas, and other minor things. I can't believe how some of these people can't fool honest workers rejecting our hard work. Now I do have a question. How many hits do you have to have in order to be able to accept other Hits? I click on many hits and it won't let me do it. I am almost at 200 hits. I have requested qualification and still have not heard. Do you know how that works? Well I think this is enough for today, sorry for such long reply, which is questions also. Have a good Thursday. Sunnymarie

Usually at 1000 hits the door opens to more lucrative hits. You should have no problem from there. What part of AZ do you live in? I am actually down here in Casa Grande. A half hour south of Phoenix.

    Crowd Flower

Crowd Flower in my opinion is unfair. their system is setup where they will let you accept a hit, then while you are doing the hit tell you are ineligible to do it and force you to abandon the hit. now they have a program where they want you to click the hit and then take chance to see if you are qualified for it. the test they give to measure writing competency in my open is bias, it does not measure an mturker understanding of the english language or grammar, it is just a silly game they used to see if you think like they do, a bias to what they learnt at their school. what disgust me about some of their hits is they are not asking for your opinion on some hits, just want to see how you work compares to others. i told crowd source they lost me as someone who will do their hits and they never responded.

Thanks for mentioning my name... I learned about TurkOpticon(TO) from this forum... So me got the idea to kickoff that nasty requesters. That I shared with anyone who want from a help for safe and happy mturking. Happy to see that you are using TO.. It's really a great tool. Also nowadays me use TO to get the requester ID of good requesters.

    For the case of qualification:
Qualification are got to us by two types
    1) by taking the test and getting a score that is good enough to do the HITs which need that particular qualification
    2) By request and only got when the requester will give that to you...

for the case of count of HITs.

Certain requesters put some qualifications that you will have to get approved 200 HITS or 500 HITS or 1000 HITs like that...so get more and more HITs approved and you are on the way to more and more HITs that you were not able to do before.

Has anyone been doing the CS hit "Add any options that apply to a product"? It's been showing up just recently for me, and I'm considering doing them, but at first glance they look kind of "messy" to deal with. Just my imagination? Any quick methods for doing them?

    Thanks. :)

What happened to all the good CrowdSource HIT's? Did they just up and evaporate? (The $4.75 articles, etc.)

I'm especially pleased with them now that they put a limit on the number of pages we need to search through to find a particular URL. There was no limit before and it was beyond frustrating sometimes, not to mention a complete waste of time in some cases. Now, we are only expected to search the first five pages. That's an incredible improvement and timesaver!

Well, you have to go to Google and search for whatever name they gave you. Then you have to do some serious web surfing and collect the data they're asking for.

You can do it if you have a lot of time on your hands and you just want the dollar. For me, I stopped doing them because they go on so long it takes me an hour to make one dollar. And I noticed they were generally 10 steps for $1 and today they're sneaking in some 13-step hits for the same dollar.

Personally, I only do the 8 centers. The rest of them are not worth the trouble. I can make more money sitting and watching for surveys than I can make doing CrowdSource’s multi-step HITs.
