I got blocked by a requester named 'Garth Gehlbach' yesterday. No fault on my side. Those who haven't heard of him please read these two threads about him:
    http://mturkforum.com/showthread.ph...-the-requester-Garth-Gehlbach&highlight=garth
    http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?4245-Garth-Gehlbach-REJECTOR!&highlight=garth

Unfortunately, this is not my first block. My first block was from 'ProductRnR', another requester who blocks workers arbitrarily for no licit reason.
    http://mturkforum.com/showthread.ph...r.-Under-NO-CIRCUMSTANCE&highlight=productrnr

My second block was from a requester named 'Michael Horne'. I had done just ONE HIT for him. That's right, just one tiny HIT worth a few cents. Probably I didn't do the HIT properly, but that doesn't entitle him to put a hard-block on me.

Now my question is, what is going to happen next? Should I anticipate that Amazon will suspend my account anytime soon? I've heard that they suspend an account after the worker gets 3 blocks. Or is that just an urban legend? I've decided that if I don't get my account suspended, I'll only work for requesters who never block the workers, even if the pay is crap.
Another query, is it effectual if I delete this account and make a fresh new one? Is it against the rules? Note that my name & PAN number would be the same.
    Regards.

It is against the rules to delete the account and make a fresh one. You can anticipate Amazon suspending your account. However, I would strongly recommend you contact Amazon and fight it since 2 of the 3 are known bad requesters. The garth thing is new though, I did hits for him on 10/1 and have not been blocked but those who did work for him on 10/3 did. Contact Amazon and send them a copy of the threads as well as the TO ratings and complaints. Hopefully you have been turking long enough and your numbers are good enough that they will male an exception, somethimes they do that

How ignorant to post this.. now there is proof of you harassing this guy! All over being blocked.. if this is true you have gone way overboard contacting his friends and family.

It is against the rules to delete your account and start a fresh one as the same person. If that were the case people would do it all the time who get suspended. A husband/wife or bf/gf can each have their own accounts, but yes it is a violation to delete and start a fresh one of your own.. Your best bet is to contact Amazon and explain the situation like other people have been doing..there is power in numbers

Maybe they allowed me to do it then, because of my circumstances. Because me and my wife were sharing an account, and she quit turking. So I deleted her account, and just added mine in my name.

As far as harassing the guy? The guy is breaking constitutional rights, amendments, and codes to the United States Department of Labor - Hourly and wage - division, FLSA laws, and everything in the book. My least concern is sending him a message asking why I'm not getting paid for the work I do. That's my rights. A lot of people can complain about it on a forum, but if your scared to take action against these guys, when you have the right, then you will never get anywhere.

you can take whatever action you want to... i'm just saying it is stupid to post something like that on a public forum where there is now a record of it.. his pay wasn't the problem and almost all 50 states are work at your will states..posting everything you are doing to this guy will get you nowhere but banned

WOW!!! BETTER YET DAMN!!! One gets a block so you invade this man's life, post his personal info in a forum and decide to stalk him.... OVER BEING. BLOCKED....ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS?!?!??
Is this what it now resorts too??? If you were blocked so be it, contact him via mturk not surfing and tracing down this man at his home!!!!
This thread needs to be deleted and all.those involved in making any requesters life uncomfortable outside of mturk BANNED FROM MTURK PERIOD!!!
U have the right to question the requester by the format given by mturk and contact info given by the requester...PERIOD!!!!
What you and others have done by researching this man's personal info without cause is violating his rights and you can be subject to prosecution by law ...pray this requester doesn't read what has been said...as easily as you obtained his IP, he to can do the same but with the law behind him!

I could not have said it better myself! Posting info that was already public info is one thing, which I think is a bit shady.. but to openly admit you are stalking him is stupid. Delete this thread asap Andy!

How about you go back and edit out the info he'd posted about the guy. He took it out of his post and the only reason it's still around is because you haven't edited the information out of your post via reply.

Leave all the block as a past event, get on with the good work. Just focus on what u r doing and do the Hits in which u r smart. Productnr is avoided by many in this world. Last one u mentioned had blocked too many. If you are not blocked by any more employers for the next 2 to 3 months then u r safe.

LOL. I tried to help her out with that. I agree, I'm just going to work on my hits and avoid forum talk from now on. I'll avoid sharing my opinion about bad requesters, and I'll avoid getting back at them for messing us over.

As for the dudes information, I deleted it from the post, so we wouldn't have random people calling him, that have nothing to do with the situation. The only way it's up there is through her.

We really need to watch the validity of our statements as well. Remember, Amazon Turk is not a normal employer, therefore they are not subject to the same laws that many are quoting in these texts. By hitting accept, you agreed to the payment that was being offered. This is not a wage job. I understand the frustration, I've had the same feelings, but I agree with footballchick, this has gotten out of hand. Spamming him? Harassing him? You've broken several laws in the course and the action from Amazon would be more swift against you then him. A block sucks, I've had one, but those people who contacted Amazon took the proper course in this one. Keeping a level head is the smart approach, especially when we don't understand the circumstances around the blocks.
