Intriguing HIT, with potential for a large bonus. After we get paid, it would be interesting to compare how we answered the proposal and what we got back, if anything.

They paid great bonuses when they were posting HITs during April/May. This time around they are approving within a few hours.

I have no idea what dcber's "survey" and its questions was driving at. But I chose $1.20 as the amount that I would accept. 2 days latter had $1.20 new on my mTurk dashboard bonus.

Maybe I should have answered...more more more...gimmee the whole $2.50

A buck forty is my kind of job...for 5 minutes work. But it's kinda short money to have one's mind probed by some intelluctual hiding behind ivy-covered walls, for whatever reason...you know, the type of dude that still has to be reminded to look both ways when crossing a busy street.

Back in the day we called them "Poindexter's"

    Still ...more dcber's please:D

A cheap psycho-analysis  of a lot of peoples reactions, I guess, is worth $1.40 to someone!

Back when I was in college, one could participate in 10-15 minute psych surveys and make $5-$10 for the time. Enough to go out for dinner or hit the local pub.

I did a lengthier one, something like the Meyers-Briggs test, which paid $40 and took about an hour. My girlfriend at the time took it too, so between the two of us we did pretty well. :)

It's been a few weeks now since the dcber survey, but I think I gave away the whole $2.50 and got back the same as a bonus, so with the reward a total of $2.70. Definitely wouldn't mind a few more Poindexters in the future if they're bringing money with them. :D

Yup. The wide adoption of the internet by the masses has definitely caused the value or the price of a persons opinion to go way way down. Damn, some requesters pay a whole nickel to probe ones cranium.

Back in the day (80's), I remember survey companies actively canvassing my local mall, clipboard in hand, offering $20 USD for about an hour of survey taking in their office off to the side. And a double-sawbuck back then would be worth over $39 now adjusted for inflation!

It was nice weekend "drinking money" when one could get it!
