All HITs are "auto approved" if the requester doesn't manually do it. The maximum they can set that to is 30 says. Most requesters manually approve HITs long before that though. A lot of batch HITs auto approve within a day or even minutes and they review the data later - if you are sub-par in your quality of work they may issue a ban. (NOT GOOD!) The Auto-Approve information you see in my posts is courtesy of a script I have that tells me what the requester has this option set for.
