If it had been a third block from a requester, wouldn't you have gotten the 'you've been blocked' email as well as the suspension notice?

Please email them. Hell, pester them if you have to. Find out why they did this to you, if not for your sake then for everybody else's, because nobody with stats like yours should even have to worry about something like this happening.

I know 442 rejection is a small number in front of that 65000 approved hits but it can be the case that two or three requesters had mass rejected your hits like 60 to 100 at a time and that has added up to the 442 rejections. If a requester has to reject like 40 hits from a turker then it's quite possible that he reports this to mturk, so in this way, it's quite possible that 4 or 5 requesters have complaint against you, which might have resulted in your account being banned. Anyway mturk is not worth anybody's time especially indians.

I'm not trying to take away from Playa here, but my account was just suspended as well. I've made a separate thread about it, though

Playa, I respect your decision to just step away. We can all get fed up at times, with any job. I just hope you decide to email them and find out exactly why or even get it reversed in case you change your mind about turking! :)

No matter what, it's been nice "knowing" ya...I can say that right?!?

I second this. It's not even remotely difficult to understand how someone could get fed up with Turking. But I really do hope you give it a couple of days and then look into things.. maybe get your account reinstated.. and stay with us. :)

Doesn't work like that. First few blocks you get an email saying "Account Warning" but then on your final block thats replaced with the email saying "Account Suspended"

Let's all start turking from a kindle fire HD. Maybe they'll give us some leniency!!

    Lulz.

Seriously though, I am terrified everyday when I login. No reason to be, but I know Amazon doesn't give a !@#$ about workers. Only requesters. Wouldn't surprise me for them to boot me just because i'm good at making money, or because they don't like my name. Or because my name was pegged by the ban dart.

About 2 weeks ago, I did a brief survey which was accepted and paid. Shortly thereafter, I got an email from Amazon saying that I had been blocked by the requester (David Broockman I think). I sent him an email asking why he blocked me if he accepted it. He apologized and said that it was a temporary block because he wanted to repost the survey and blocks were how he prevented people retaking the survey. He said that was how he handled it before and that Amazon had never sent out such warnings in the past when he did it. This past weekend (or maybe last Thursday or Friday), I noticed that he had a new survey up. Out of curiosity, to see whether he had removed the block, I clicked to see what would happen. I was able to accept the hit (I returned it so that I did not have to deal with another email and block). I wonder if other requesters who post surveys handle reposts in such a manner.

I wrote about this on another thread, but I know for a fact that in the past I've had Requester blocks as a duplication prevention. David Broockman above was one of them.

I never once received any type of an email from MTurk about being blocked. I know they're not going into my Spam folder, because I check that every day. The only way I found out about the blocks was by getting that "This Requester has chosen to prevent you from working on their HITs" message.

I'm not suspended but I'm absolutely terrified reading these stories. This is why a long time ago, I decided to go with the Amazon GC option of getting paid, and using my turking earnings to pay for our pet supplies and dry good groceries in bulk. Because I don't have to wait until my account reaches $10, I can cash out every time I reach just $1.00. I don't trust MTurk one bit, and I want to get my money out from them as soon as I can.

Playa I am so, so sorry. I hope you are able to do something you enjoy this weekend and it takes your mind off MTurk. And I hope you consider writing them, so you can get your account reinstated.

Requesters do this all the time and we don't know about it! I wonder if they have some sort of option to click if it is a block for violation or a block to keep the user from doing hits???? That could be the difference in if you get an email or not.

really sad to hear this Playa... you've done significantly more hits than many of us, but I guess it comes down to blocks.

To others reading this thread - be more selective about what hits you do, even if that means passing up potential opportunities. Playa "guinea pigged" (no disrespect) a lot of HIT's for us and we benefited from his efforts ... good luck my friend.
