Greetings from Amazon Mechanical Turk, We have completed our review of your Amazon Mechanical Turk Worker Account. We regret to inform you that you will not be permitted to work on Mechanical Turk. Thank you for your interest in Mechanical Turk. Sincerely, Amazon Mechanical Turk https://www.mturk.com 410 Terry Avenue North SEATTLE, WA 98109-5210 USA
More details needed.. Where are you from? Male Female?? Age Bracket? 18-20? 21-29? 30-40? 50+?? Lets see if others suffer the same fate and see if we can figure out the variables to why..
Looks like the days of making multiple accounts is over (Not saying this is why this happened to karthi, but just saying that those who go around bragging about getting suspended or tanking approval ratings just creating a new account is done) Sorry they didn't approve you!
My friend want to create account in mturk M.Gowsalya (21) India, Tamilnadu, Sivakasi They given the message like this
Is your friend using the same IP address or laptop/PC to create the account as of yours? They will not allow multiple accounts originating from same IP address.
Yes i used my system to create the account... so if we are nearer area but different ip address means we able to create a a/c or not
I suspect the delay for new account creation is because they have put together stringent quality checks for new account to ensure that suspended account do not get access by following unscrupulous and illegal ways of bypassing the rules.
Its more for the IP address then the system I believe - because people work at home and work using the same account. But if an IP or system is flagged by the mTurk team, you cannot use it to create new ones.
I take it this message you posted wasn't because you tried to create another account on Mturk since you already have one (according to your previous posts here)? If not, the reason is def multiple accounts. If it is your friend, it's likely due to IP addresses being the same as another worker.
Hey, I got the same message this morning. Nothing dodgy about my application, I'm female, married in my 40's, is it a problem being a Canadian (and British ) ;-))) I thought I was a great Amazon customer using the canadian, us and uk sites for purchases. Guess my money is OK but not to be a turker. Wondered how long to leave it before reapplying.
Hi Lilloo, welcome to the forum. Your account application was rejected? That is the first we've heard of outside India as far as I know I wonder if you'd get a response if you asked them why? I'm sorry I haven't answers for your questions, this is definitely a recently developing situation and we are finding out new facts every day.
Thanks, I did send an email this morning, got an auto response and hopefully get a fuller response soon
Do post it here as and when when you receive a reply..... By what we have been seeing since morning, it seems like the US registration are going through..... Not sure whats in store.
Amazon may be starting to switch to a US-only platform? This is the only thing that makes sense as to why non-US are being rejected...just a thought though.
so what happens with all the existing Indian and other International workers - I guess there are a lot. Recently saw a video interview of VP, Mturk saying they have a 500k workforce from 190 countries. See the video below at 2:08
They have a VP for Mturk. I thought it's run by a team of thugs aiming at cheap labor, taking advantage of human needs.
I don't know. Like I said, it was just a guess on my part. It's just weird how all rejections for new accounts are coming from foreign countries and all US accounts (the ones I've read about being approved on this and the other forum) are being approved. If they aren't allowing sign ups from outside the US, I would assume or at least hope that they let ALL existing workers keep their accounts unless they're proven to be cheaters. Just seems strange to me that only US workers are being approved, that's all
