Is the only way to gain access to more hits by improving your hit approval % and increasing the number of hits you do? The site says 330k hits are available but why does it show us the same ones over and over? This site could be set up a lot better imo.
That asks for an unprobable answer.Coz this would completely depend on your work and luck in turking and also based on your demographic location.If u hail from United States of America u stand a chance of more exposure to new HITs. Yep exactly...Some Hits require approval greater than 1000, 5000, 10K and even 20K with approval percentages ranging from 95 to 99 !! 330K hits are the overall one present..Out of them only some of em wud be available to you or those for which u wud be qualified.The same ones show up over and over again coz some requesters use certain scripts so tht their HITs show up evrtyime in the top list when we wokers set up newest first in the priority.Someone mentioned it in this thread last day http://mturkforum.com/showthread.ph...t-Newest-First-quot-Filter-with-their-Scripts
I vote no. I have a 99.9% approval rate with thousands of HITs approved, but I usually max out at $30 a day tops, and I still have bad days where I can't make more than $15 or $20. Some people claim to consistently make $15 an hour turking, but I guess they're either at an upper level of transcriptions or exaggerating.
Welcome specimen, I'm fairly new to mturk. I mostly do writing and transcription HITs, and I've made $60 in one day. That is rare. I usually can average around $30 to $40, but that can take all day...as in more than 8 hours. A lot of people claim to make $1500 per month or more, but they likely have qualifications that most do not have access to, or like Athena said, they are exaggerating. Either way, starting out you won't make anywhere near that. However, you can make money, so good luck.
It is very possible if you are in the US and you are dedicated. I make that easily and then some. However, you are not going to make that right away. You have to start somewhere and good quals are hard to get so you have to be diligent and overworked at times to get there. So if you want to start out making that much you might as well get a job somewhere else. If you have the ability to wait out the storm and keep with it you will be able to make that after an initial learning period.
I'm in the US, have a 99% +approval rating, thousands of approved HITs, etc, etc! Can you at least PM me the details of how to make more than $30 a day? Or post it here/whatever? I spent a full year just making $8 a day with 12 hours of turking a day! I'm now up to $20-$30 a day, but nowhere near $1,500 a month!
There really isn't a rhyme or reason hun. The only advice I can really give is go for EVERY qualification you can get no matter what! They may seem trivial at the time when they first come out but then later on you will regret not having them. After all.. if you have them and they turn out crappy you just don't do the hits.... BUT.... if you don't get them and then later on they turn out good you are screwed. Also, I do bulk hits! They save time on searching for new ones and such. I am not much of a writer ... categorization is my thing. Believe me... those 5 and 10 cent hits add up when you can do many...many...many of them! I have over 277,000 approved hits with a 99.7% approval.
