Hi, I got an account warning mail from Mturk since a requester has blocked me from doing his HITs. I have worked on only one HIT posted by him yesterday . I think it didnt meet his expectation. Do I need to do anything for this ? Do I need to contact this requester? Kindly help. Here is the mail: We regret to inform you that you were blocked from working on HITs by the following requester(s): Jofer IM Inc. Requesters typically block Workers who submit poor quality work. Requesters rely on Mechanical Turk for high quality work results. In order to maintain quality, we continuously monitor service activity. Should additional Requesters block you in the future, we may suspend your account. Please ensure your work quality is at a high standard. We encourage you to read the HIT instructions and follow them carefully. We realize that this block may be a onetime occurrence for you. Should you maintain high work quality with no further complaints for the next few months we will dismiss this event.
All I can tell you is to just make sure you're only doing hits for requesters with positive ratings on turkopticon. Stick with reliable requesters and do good work, and you shouldn't have any problems. In addition to TO, the "Requesters" section of this forum is good for gathering information on who to hit and who to avoid. Good luck.
My suggestion is if u wish u could contact the requester with as much politeness as u can apply and ask him/her if they cud reverse the block.Incase other requesters block u ..u might get it suspended...SO u can do it to give urself a chance to be safer ....
I got auto-blocked during my 10 day trial period. The requester had set up his HITs to block (hard block, not soft block) workers after they completed so many HITs. I contacted him to let him know what had happened, ask if he blocked me because my work was bad, or if it was for another reason, and let him know that blocks can get us banned. He was really surprised, he didn't know that hard blocks could do that, and went through and unblocked EVERYONE he had blocked, and apologized. Point is, a lot of requesters don't even know what blocks can do to us workers! Sometimes, like in my case, it is a complete misunderstanding. Like Munawar Mohamad says, contact the requester! But be very polite while doing it. Good luck!
I have just sent a mail to the requester. Let me see my luck and post if he replies me back. I wish my requester do the same as yours.
