Help with Speechink Hi. I took the qual test for SpeechInk but was unable to access the results. I sent an email asking about it but they just sent me another email to take the qual test again. When I go to their site it asks me to sign in with my account. However, I have never logged an account with them. It says my email has an account, but I never provided a password. When I took the test all it asked for was my name and email. Any suggestions?
Sure. Over at their company site, the upper right area asks you to either log in or create an account. Just put your email address in and leave the password field blank. Then click the "LOGIN" button. This will lead to a screen that tells you that you didn't do it right. That's where you find the link under the login boxes to reset your password. Since it's already saying you have an account associated with your email, just reset your password so you can log in with one you create! If that doesn't help, where does it say that your email has an account? For example, in an email you got from them? In an error message? By the way, CastingWords, for example, will do the same: create a password for you if you didn't create one yourself. Sometimes, it can be hard to figure out how you got an account, although in the end, it doesn't matter.
Thank you! Thanks so much for your response. It never occurred to me to leave the password blank. I want to retake the transcription test since I've been practicing. However, I figured it wasn't worth taking until I could see what I did wrong the first time. I also read that you can only take their qual test twice so I want to make the most the second time. I scored 90, but still have no SpeechInk hits available to me. I'm just starting to experiment with the transcription hits and am trying to learn the style guides a little better. I entered my email on their site and got the screen to change my password. I'm waiting for the email to tell me how to change my password. So, your is greatly appreciated.

I do the video tagging and transcribing. It is a lot of work, and you will need software that is able to show video, also you will need to understand HTML format. The HITs are assigned via email and they pay same day if you finish early enough.
Huge drop in rating qualification... no idea why. Help? My rating mysteriously dropped from 94 to 0, and I can't retake the qualification test (got the error message stating that my existing score exceeds the cutoff). I've emailed every address I can find... I got an initial response asking for more information/screenshots, which I sent, but I haven't heard anything since. I've now been locked out for over two weeks, which is... a huge problem for me, although I realize it has no impact whatsoever on them. In any case, I'm starting to wonder if I've been 'fired' for some reason. Has this happened to anyone else?
CCV, I had the same problem as you three times in the past two weeks. One trick I was doing is taking the test again. It's the same test every time, so save the transcription on your computer for when this error happens. It's an automatically graded system, so you'll get your rating returned to normal within seconds of submitting the test. (I did this two out of the three times) The third time I sent an email with all the screenshots to Priscilla. She replied it was a common issue that was being worked on, and magically the next day my rating was back to normal. But try taking the test again if you want your rating back fast. Speechink seems to take a while to respond (if they ever respond).
Chellefish, Thanks so much for the information! You are my hero, seriously. One more question, if you wouldn't mind... How do you get the system to let you retake the test? I always get the error message that says "Oops! It looks like you've already taken this test..." (or something to that effect). I am totally broke, but at least now I have some hope--so thanks again!
I have requested the qualification test for audio transcribing with SpeechInk over a dozen times and I have never received it in my inbox. I emailed them about this issue and have received no response. Has anyone had similar issues with SpeechInk and if so were you able to resolve them and how?
