He posted a hit named Survey and Message Classification for 0.20 on 21/11/2012.He approved and paid. But he had blocked me from doing further hits.Very upset because of this block. The requester don't even send a feedback why they have blocked?
no.but when i started to accept another hit from this requester it showed me that the requester has blocked you from working on his hits.
Hi! This is David Johnson of the Cooper Johnson HIT. I am so sorry if our blocking caused any hurt feelings. We only want one observation per person and this is just the most effective way to ensure it. I plan on doing future studies on mechanica"l Turk. You can be assured that I will unblock you when the next study starts. Again I apologize for any inconvenience.
Thanks a lot for you reply sir.If there could be system that repeaters cant take part it would be better. So these soft blocks can also be avoided. Expecting to work with you in your future studies.
As everyone said, soft blocks are harmless, it's a way for requesters to prevent you from doing any more of their HITS. It's effective. It doesn't go on your record.
So what is the difference b/w soft and hard block ?? I thought there was only one !!!! Soft + soft = Hard ????
There's no such thing as a soft block. It's the remarks/feedback that the requester leaves as a reason for the block that differentiate it as soft or hard. When AMT reviews these blocks, if they see the reason as to prevent duplicates, they'll ignore them and will not send you an account warning. But interpretation of the reason is completely in the hands of Amazon and you'll not be having any say on it. If something can be considered a pure soft block, it's the internal block like the one crowdflower and redwood has.
