The l2w hit is too simple and so the requester has the liberty to reject all the hits of some turker while accepting all the hits of another. This will save l2w money while showing that it was the mistake on the part of the turker only like one is better than the other while saving loads of cash. Another miser cheater on mturk.

Another requester has posted on their hit, "If your work involves random clicks, then we will reject all your hits". So that clearly means that we are the god here and you are at our mercy. That's why I always go for higher paying and genuine hits. Something looks too good to be true, it ain't true.

Wow, now that's something extreme. I'm sorry for you iceblink. But can you tell me how long you having in mturk, because if you are here for around more than one years than it should never happen to you.

  6. Has anyone else got approved or rejected on this particular HIT by l2w ? please let knw here...thank you

A few days ago, I have completed 300 hits for a requester, "Raj Badrinath" of $0.05 each and kept checking on him everyday for his approval rate. The other day, I noticed that he has rejected 35 of my hits and approved 10, so I contacted him and told him that his rejection will effect my mturk scores and I won't be able to work for other requesters. After that he sent me an email saying that, there was something wrong in his system and then he accepted all the pending 250 hits.

This just shows that some requesters are just scamsters and if you don't tie a noose around their neck they will go on and reject all your hits.

This would have been my 5th month, but i've got through 41,000 hits and always stayed above 99%.. I was at 99.7% until l2w.

Never really had a problem with rejections or anything before, fell foul of a couple of bad apple requesters in my time I guess, which I really regret now.

Here's a screenshot I took last week of my last 45 days, thats a 99.9% ratio i was working at :( How they can make me feel like a spammer, or a bot, I dunno I just feel a great sense of injustice but I know i'm not the first.

And this is how companies, even in the "real" world, loose great workers... to them we're all the same and totally replaceable.

I'd think there would be some path for recourse written in to the ToU if you want to go that route.

I don't really know what my next move is at the moment, just trying to make them focus on the fact my approval was high, and that none of the blocks I have are from requesters I would call "reputable". You'd think they'd take blocks from people like ProductRnR, or one time requesters that have never been seen again with less weight, but they all count the same it seems :(

iceblink, there is always a risk in doing hits which are too simple and too many and involve just clicks from the turkers side. There is no possible way for the requester to evaluate all the thousands of hits pending with him and most probably he goes with quality check methods like evaluating a small batch of your hits and then based on the quality of that he rejects or accepts all your hits. That's why all your hits were rejected while all the hits of somebody's else were accpet.

That is why it's never save to devote all your time to a specific requester because if the requster turns out to be too pesky then you risk being rejected while it would not be the case with all requester and still you will earn the same.

Yeah that's true, I was trying to be careful after my 2nd block. I actually made a post on here saying as much somewhere. I wasn't alone in trusting l2w though, it really did come as a shock as i've worked for him quite a bit in the past without any issue. I always treat requesters i haven't used before with kid gloves for the first 1 or 2 times and then if all goes well after that, add them to my "ok" pile.

l2w was one of those, which is why i'm so shocked and baffled by this.

Diversifying also opens you up to more potential blocks, though. If he'd done 20k+ HITs just for l2w and not received any other blocks previously (from notorious blockers/fly by night requesters) this wouldn't be any sort of issue.

It's making me sick to think that trying out requesters who may block without recourse could effectively get you kicked off mturk.

Yeah I know it's tough, Amazon's not going to care much.

This is one of those things though that if you found the right person's ear to pull, you might be able to convince somebody to help.

They really don't care. Their suspension system is automated, I know that for a fact now. The suspension happened at 3pm GMT and the email informing me was sent at 3pm GMT. All account warning emails were sent at 3pm GMT. I was blocked really late last night by l2w and it was a Sunday too, so I can't see how they had a chance to check anything in that space of time, especially as 3pm to me is like 7am over there? There's really no checking involved in it, it's done by some automated formula, and once you exceed this you're dead no matter what your stats may be. It's basically guilty, then try your best to prove you're innocent.

They may not care but the $700-800 per month I earned on here really mattered to me and without it life is gonna be a struggle I won't lie about that. I earned it as well through hard work and many, many hours.

I'm sorry this happened to you :( Good luck in getting through to Amazon.

Is this new though? I was always under the impression that you forfeited any remaining balance in your Amazon Payments account if you were suspended. I guess the silver lining is that that is one less thing to have to worry about.

Oh my god i'm so freaking happy

    Hello Raymond,

After reviewing your account, the decision was made to reopen it at this time. You should be able to access your account and accept HITs.
Please note it will take 10-14 business days for HIT approved during the suspension to be paid.

Thank you for participating in Mechanical Turk.

I can't believe the speed in which they responded, I take back everything I said they have shown that they actually DO care when you're in the right. Wow suspended and reopened in the same day that's gotta be a first!! Can't thank Amazon enough for their help really, absolutely speechless

Thanks to everyone in this thread for the kind words and concern and showing why this forum is the best :) Special thanks to Whimsy for the really kind PM too.

    Thanks man!

No response from l2w, I guess just be careful with that requester in future would be my advice.
