Happy Thanksgiving. No Wal-Mart for me! It was the walmart shopper images that did it for me. I still shop Amazon and I am not sure about the integrity of their practices but I do think walmart treats their employees horribly. I plan to shop more on sites like Etsy.com.

 

I think I ate too much to be effective at turking tonight. I just spent a whole 3 min staring at a question before being able to answer...

why do some requesters only allow you to do so many of a HIT (crowdsource)?

I was doing the HIT: Find the relation between two words.....makes no sense to me.

 

For most of the Crowdsource ones you're bumping peoples stuff up or down the search rankings when you search the terms they provide. So they need different Unique IP's to do this. Basically just need a lot of different people doing it, so they cap you on it.

For the people who've done the Edge Lab expand tweet hits, how long do they usually take to approve?

do any of you do the transcripts? are they worth the time to read through the entire transcript guide and memorize all of that stuff? On top of the memorization, (you know there's going to be mistakes at first) going back through to double triple check the work so it doesn't get returned and suffer the horrible money making at first (due to how long it would take a beginner with all of the mistake correcting and audio reversing)?

 

Great question. I know it's one I had when I started turking because people always said that the real money is in transcription. The requester "ClariTrans" has excellent, fair-paying transcription HITs from the range of 5,10,15,20, and 35 second audio files and you have to transcribe them, which takes an extra 10-30 seconds. These are a great way to learn the ropes of transcription.

Typing speed is going to be your biggest hurdle.
