I just got a laptop for my SO, it has windows 8. When I downloaded google chrome for him, it also put in all the bookmarks/addons that are on MY computer. Is there a way to change that? Cause he just added this "new tabs on top" script that is just driving me up the wall..

sounds like you have sync enabled. go to settings on his chrome and click the "disconnect google account" button.

Go into your settings, and see if there is a user signed in (at the very top). You most likely have him signed and it is syncing his profile on your chrome.
