I can't preview the HIT coz of the geo qual. But this looks like a higher paid alternative of the Oscar hits. If it's the ones I'm thinking of, the rules on those are really tough and I think it would be easy to be rejected unless everything was perfect.
Sorry for whining...LOL...love doing these hits. Well, I'm getting a little frustrated, to say the least. I keep getting conflicting information. 1. If there is no name on the card (but it is a business card), do I put "none" in that field instead of leaving it blank? (Or website,or whatever field is blank.) I was told that each and every entry is reviewed to establish our score? 2. International address - does International go on the first line and then "add line" to put in the rest (that is what "oscar" recommended tonight. I think I'm just tired and I know I'm a very good, accurate data entry person, so I cannot imagine how getting higher scores doesn't happen. I even proofread them before submitting!!! LOL...good night!
I will tell you what I do and will continue to do until I get really good information to the contrary. If there is no name, I just leave it blank, if it's there but I can't read it, I would put unreadable, although that's only happened once. On one card today, the only thing on the card I could read was the company name. I wrote unreadable card in the name box, then I decided I would go ahead and put in the Company name. I should probably have written "unreadable" for all the info that was there but I couldn't read. I wasn't going to take the time to do it, but it may be proper and probably won't hurt. 2. That's what I've been doing. As far as international addresses go, I have basically been able to write it normally for Canadian and Australian addresses. If the city and state/province are there it's all in order. I assume the numbers at the end stand for something similar to a zip code, so I put them in that box. If it's England I do something similar. City goes in the city box with the numbers after it in the zip box. If "England" or "UK" are there, ie 10 Downing Street, London, England, I would put England in the box for state. If UK or England are not there, I leave that box blank. For something like China, I do the best I can. Depending on how it looks, I usually try to get the City in the box, though depending on how it's written, I may just use lines, and not even use the boxes for City/State/Zip. Never return cards, if you do. I used to return cards all the time, but now I know not to do that. The only time I do is when I have to with a blank image. I refresh the page several times before I will return it to make absolutely sure. I will submit it blank before I will return it. Anyway, this is what I've been doing. It's kept me between 88-92, whereas before I would be down in the upper 70s/low 80s. BTW, I do not have trusted worker status.
Thanks - one more question - when there is an international phone number, I read here to put a "-" between when there is a space. Now I'm wondering if it is better to just put the "space" where the space is - since the instructions say it should be EXACTLY like the card... I do appreciate having these to work on, I am almost at 1,000 HITS in a very short time because I have been able to do these. Yes, I would like to reach "preferred" status to make the extra money, but I can just do the best I can...and then hope for the best! Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
I should change my question about the dashes to: it appears one cannot leave spaces, so dashes or run them all together?
Okay, Oscar Project - I GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those scores they assign make no sense to me at all - go from 86 to 79, when I spent extra time making sure everything was in order, proofed for typos, etc. I love doing data entry, so will continue to do for HITs score (over a 1,000 now) but I'm going to ignore those internal scores...yes, the extra 3 cents would be nice to be "preferred" but WTH????? Have a great day you guys!
I don't know how they calculate that score, but If they assign it by comparing your answers to other workers answers, then it does no good to do better job than others. In fact, it only hurts you.
Apparently...you are probably 100% right! With the thousands of cards they have to "proof" each night, they must have a system in place - probably a computer! Thanks for your input...I'll just put this little score of theirs in perspective and do what I'm doing and I will know I did the best job I could.
Mine went down to 86 last night after previously being at 88 two nights in a row, then 89. One of the cards I submitted the day before my score went from 88-89 I accidentally submitted a card completely blank. I guess it's possible that there is a delay between the submission and when it affects your score.
That's what makes it so frustrating...was it something I did two days ago, yesterday,or what? Grrrrrr...hate being played! But, dang, got up over 1000 HITS in three days (from 600), thanks to the volume of entries. I would actually like to see a screenshot of what this app is going to look like...maybe that would help us visual how this data is translated... P.S. It's Friday...lol...like that means a lot to us Turkers!
Someone in the forums mentioned that maybe Oscar keeps the scores low so that no one qualifies for the qualification? I don't know. You would think after all this practice we have been doing, we'd get it right finally.
I'm thinking he might use a grading curve based on how many people do his hits and his preconceived notions about how many people out of those should statistically be doing well enough to achieve Trusted Worker Status. HE also might be using some sort of bell curve system, knowing that there are people here that submit the bare minimum and still get paid. I know that happens, like I said, I did that by accident the other night. He may utilize the number of people who have a 10 or less score at any one time, and the people who have 90 or more at any one time, and adjust everyone else's score to make a big curve in the center.
Has anyone noticed Oscar Smith's TO has been cut to just 15 from like over 100 feedbacks? Someone cut the older feedbacks out.
