My account was just suspended with no email warnings, no blocked requester email, no nothing. What did I do wrong? I was working on NestMi work, when this happened. I contacted mturk, but still no repsonse. I have an approval rating of 96.00 with 5k hits approved and 289 rejections. Please advise..... any help
The high amount of rejections could be the problem with only 5000 HITS. I have done exactly 105562 99.7% with only 341 Rejections. When I had 5000 Submitted I only had 20 or so rejections. ... Rejected 341 0.3%. I am suspecting that the rejections could be your problem. Contact them and ask them why they suspended you. Ask them if it is because of the amount of rejections that you currently have.
I hope Amazon doesn't get obsessive about rejections out of the blue. I've got 2281 rejections, and like 99% of them are from Amazon's own HITs from the early days of A9 search and matching CD cover art to album name. I asked them earlier this year of they'd consider taking their own rejections off my account since I ran them up during beta testing, but they refused. I'm going to be mad if I get the boot over that after all these years.
the unique thing about this, is the fact that i was working today and did around 120 hits and 19 got approved, the rest are still pending, with 0 rejections for the day, so why suddently out of the blue? the other hits from previous days didnt get rejected either. in the event of blocked from a requester, wouldnt atleast i get an email warning for 1st offense or something? right off the bat suspension? another thing, NetMsi work is kind of stupid. Even when I am 100% certain of doing a correct hit, it gets rejected sometimes, i am never working on that requester ever again if i ever get my account back,,, :crosses fingers:
I haven't had any issues with NetMSi. I hope you hear back from Amazon soon. Minutes feel like hours when you are waiting for a response.
I'm sorry that this is happening to you. This is unfair, don't you think? I have no love or non-love of NetMSi, but "every single worker" is a completely unfounded statement. Remember, people post to forums or to TurkOpticon particularly when they are unhappy with requesters or MTurk. So that's not going to present you a balanced picture of what's going on. It's good to be aware of trends, but your statement here isn't justified. However, I hope your situation works out! Good luck.
You are correct, I may have over spoke when I said "EVERY SINGLE" worker, however a trend is definitely occurring regarding this requesting, and its affecting a couple of people. Also on a side note, I have emailed mturk maybe 3 hours ago regarding this issue, and still didnt get a response back. Do they usually take this long to reply?
Yes, I'm sorry to say that they do. In fact, they take much longer, according to others who have had any issues in which they need MTurk to do something to help with their account. It might help a little (I know it's not much) if you are aware that MTurk is Amazon's red-headed stepchild, as the saying goes. Amazon does not promote it and compared with "regular Amazon," as many people think of the shopping site, there are very few customer-care resources provided. That means Turkers usually have very long waits for their issues. So that doesn't mean they won't get back to you, but you will have to be much, much, much more persistent and patient than if you were asking them about, I don't know, even a $1 hardware part you bought through them. Sorry to be the bearer of that news! Again, good luck.
Like Naturegirl says be patient, they have a real small department, I can remember people e-mailing sellers support and trying like the dickens to find the appropriate place to route the e-mail to, more than likely it is as few people in another department that watch the queues and work them when they get close to be out of service levels. They also answer first in first out, so contrary to some belief repeated e-mailing doesn't speed up an answer although it will give the rep some free locks when they get to the first e-mail.
That is a terrible amount of rejections, that could be why you were suspended. I was worried about having 12 rejections out of 4071. Relieved that I wont get cut for that amount, but also wondering if that is why more and more requesters are setting their hits to 5K+ or masters. Just a thought.
whatever you do,DO NOT GIVE UP!! EMAIL THEM 100 TIMES ADAY IF YOU HAVE TO, AND IF THEY REMOVED ANY MONEY THAT YOUB EARNED, THREATEN THEM WITH THE FTC THE BBB AND DONT LET UP. I KNOW BECAUSE OPINION OUTPOST TRIED THAT CRAP AND I THREW THE FTC AND THE BBB AND INTERNET CRIME.IF YOU THINK THEY ARE WRONG, FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT, YOU WILL WIN OUT
Comparing a crowdsourcing platform like AMT to a consumer survey panel like OO is like comparing apples to screwdrivers.
update: After 2 emails sent, I have yet to get a reply back. Not only that, today when I try to log in, it says the account does not exist. They deleted my account? What the hell is going on? All this and not even a warning email, or an email updating as to why my account was suspended in the first place.. this is stupid
Your mTurk account is gone, or your entire Amazon account is gone? If you cannot log into Amazon, then I would say your issue is far beyond mTurk.
When my account was suspended back in March, it took them 3 days to respond to my email. They said that they would look into it and only get back to me if they decide to reopen my account. They never got back to me so a week after their first response, I sent a second email and they didn't respond so I sent third email a couple days after that. I still didn't get a response so I sent a letter (snail mail) to CEO Jeff Bezos and I threatened to go to the BBB and report them to the attorney general if they didn't tell me why they suspended my account and/or reopen it. That must have gotten their attention because I got an email saying that Mr. Bezos received my letter and that they were reinstating my account. Even though I had around 2500 approved hits and a 100% approval rating, they said that my account was suspended for poor work and that I should be more careful when doing hits in the future. I don't understand how my work was poor when I had a 100% approval rating. Anyways, it took 2 months to get my account back after it was suspended. Don't expect them to respond to your emails.
