The key is to make sure you are putting AT LEAST two synonyms for EVERY word/phrase given. Also, there's a lot of leniency on the word "synonym". Basically if you can come up with another word/phrase that keeps the same meaning and makes sense with the rest of the sentence, it is acceptable.
ouch i got a score of 19 for the synonyms.Still passed though Too confusing to deal with for me.Not because it deals with synonyms but the instructions are weird with all the colors it is talking about and everything else. Ill try the other ones they have.
Yep, that's the issue I was having on the first one I tried, until i realized that the "similarity" went down when I selected two.
Did anyone else notice that there were actually 2 incorrect sentences in the first question of the qual test? One was more outstandingly bad than the other, but one technically violated the AP/Chicago/MLA rule about coordinating conjunctions and parts of a sentence that could stand alone as a complete sentence.
Even when I spend 10 minutes picking out 2-5 synonyms, I STILL can't get a sentence though! How weird. At least the requester doesn't let you put them through and then reject, I guess.
I don't think you're understanding correctly. You don't form an entire new sentence with all your synonyms being used all together. You just have to make sure that each one that you choose fits with the ORIGINAL sentence.
It is quite confusing.. and this is coming from someone whose best subject was English! LOL I have done a few and gotten a couple of .10 bonuses but these are just far too frustrating for me tonight.
I almost wonder if there's a glitch or something, because I've tried that, too. Off to try again. This is officially bugging me now. lol.
Haha, no there isn't a glitch. I've done A LOT of these now, and am getting a minimum of a $0.30 bonuses, with plenty of 40c and 45c ones sprinkled in
Maybe my brain just isn't wired to do them correctly or something. I've done lots of flat-out article spinning and can usually keep my uniqueness above 98%. But I think I'm fully in the habit of restructuring sentences or something. Coz I just caNOT do these synonym HITs. lol. I have officially tried and failed. Again, at least the requester doesn't reject. I'd much rather waste time trying and failing than getting rejections.
These are GREAT! Thanks for posting! I much prefer this to transcribing I got a 22 on the test as well.
It took me a little bit to figure out exactly what I was supposed to do on the HIT, but once I did I was banking. All of them auto approved, and about half of the bonuses did too. I wonder what's up with the other half.
I stared at a hit for about 4 minutes. It made my brain hurt. So, I'm doing some penny ante cut and paste gigs
