I had a bunch approved and paid but I expect more in a few hours. It's only about 5:30 am over there so they are probably asleep
Does anyone know the best hits for new mturkers trying to just work their numbers up? I've tried the business card ones but they seem to take awhile just to get numbers up and I get some unreadable ones. Crowdsource is pretty easy but a lot of time I get the "no hits available" problem.
Try a lot of crowdflower. Search 'crowdfllower pairs' and do the .01 hits or the .05 Also crowdflower and crowdsource have sentiment hits. Homezoo, venue quality, ocmp, readabl, jaime are the requesters to keep your eye on.
If you are good at transcription crowdsurf pays right away. There is a requester Percy Liang that has a ton of hits up. He pays in couple of days.
I hope Percy approves today. It is day 3 for me, but I guess it will approve at the exact time I submitted them.
Yeah they aren't as fast as the penny hits. However, you do gain experience on transcription which leads to the better money hits. Crowdsurf is a great one to start with because they are very lenient on their grading system.
You'll get faster! I started out slow too but now I can do one of the 35 second ones in under 2 1/2 minutes. The CrowdSurf hits are perfect fillers for when you're waiting for better HITs.

I'm embarrassed. I just texted my friend what time I work tomorrow. I texted 4:00 and beneath it I wrote 10char.
Same here! I'm still doing the 15 sec ones at 2 minutes but I started at about 8 minutes yesterday. I do remember it took me awhile to get the hang of it way back when too. I am now looking for a keyboard that has the programmable keys on the left side and a programmable mouse. That will probably speed things up! Or a foot pedal. But I like sitting with my feet up.

Same one was posted on December 15th, but I am assuming it is a different graduate student. For some reason I can remember all surveys within the first two pages. Not a repeat.
Researchers at Institute for Software Research $1.00 No TO took about 16 min. (but I'm a slow survey taker) sorry I don't have the right link. Think I'll head over and pick up the script for that.
