Can't Find Good HITs? 2/8

Shark Tank is one of my favorite shows! I also can't wait for The Walking Dead to return this Sunday.

 

Please help me to understand something. Three times, today, I have accepted a Hit that I was qualified for only to have a screen come up that says the survey is now closed. What is that about? Does it mean I am blocked?

 

No it just means that they hit their total number of surveys they needed and did not close out the HIT in mturk.

 

Chrome or firefox? What version of windows?

Open My Computer and type this in the address bar:
%LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\

It should be in there somewhere, not sure exactly where as I'm using Windows XP, Firefox, Greasemonkey.

or just try typing
%LocalAppData% and look for the Chrome folder I guess, I'm not too familiar with Windows 7.

Pretty darn close. Don't know how useful it will be but it's :

C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\IndexedDB

XXXX = your profile name

That is where it should be under one of the folders there. But you should also see a file named xxx.sqlite and I can't find it on my computer.

I'll look a little more and let you know. Found the firefox one and opened it just fine.

I need the database file from the script itself.
You save all that information, Its gotta be somewhere


EDIT: Said screw it and just updated again.

 

Yeah it was in that directory I mentioned above with an .sst & .log file but it's not like a regular sqlite db. So I wouldn't be able to even tell you how to extract the records and import them into a new db. Sorry.

 

Since it's tech hour my Hit DB auto update button is not showing up on hits available page does anyone know how to fix this?

 

Oh man... That one I don't really have a clue on. Though I do know that there is any message above the hits in green or yellow the button doesn't show up. My best recommendation if it doesn't show up at all is to back up your database. Uninstall the extension. Clear the cache. Re install the extension and then restore your database.

 

Hmm it is possible you have Hit DB disabled? Otherwise I'm not sure.

Edit: I'm not as tech savvy as tcgirl, I was a biochem major.

If you're using Firefox go to Manage User Scripts under Greasemonkey, click options for Hit DB and make sure the www.mturk.com/mturk/findhits* isn't under excluded pages.

 

I'm a jack of all trades when it's mechanical or tech. And sadly master of none.
