Signed up with oDesk because of this post. XD Any suggestions on which tests to take? So far I've done a couple of easy, basic tests (spelling and vocab...feels like high school), but I'm not sure where to go from here.
I don't have a set list of requesters. I just won't work for less than $6/hour, and I won't work for known mass rejectors or majority rules requesters. I also won't do too many HITs for a requester with no TO rating. Most days I make between $20-$40, yesterday was just a good day.
Focus on your skills, list your relevant experience, and find the right employers. It's a whole lot like Turking, only you have to apply for the job. Don't deal with low-ballers, don't deal with scammers, DON'T deal with ANYONE who can't speak English properly, and put careful thought into your cover letters. Tests are generally less important. (For the record, that money was a combination of my work experience, my knowledge of programming, and being in the right place at the right time.)
Very nice. I've pushed a couple more dollars to get to about $22. It seems to me that most days the work seems to dry up by around 8PM Eastern (US) time, so I'll be keeping at it for the next 3 hours or so. Hoping that this could turn out to be a $30+ day.
$32.30, with one HIT unapproved that'll bring it up to either $35.02, or $35.57, depending on the bonus. All CastingWords. 12 HITs total.
hey sorry for asking but what kind of hits are you doing. I have checked the requester subforum but it isnt helpful or maybe im doing something wrong. What kind of hits do you suggest I do to make around $20 a day like you guys.
This forum in general has a lot of good tips. For a start, just go through the last 10-20 pages of this thread and I'm sure this exact question has been answered multiple times.
Not much going on right now, I'm up to about $3.00 today, mostly Speechink and a couple KJ Ross rewrites. Going to head out for some lunch for the next hour and see if it's better when I get back.
It's been pretty poor so far this week $17 yesterday $13 Monday. Jus waiting for that one killer hit to arrive n it's not happenin..
So far, $9.74 ... caught the tail-end of Survos (thank you Chaos!) so that helped. I've been eyeballing my e-mail all day, waiting for Turk Alert to send me *something*, but it looks pretty dead right now (for me). Maybe if I have somewhere to go, things will pop up. That's how it usually works for me, LOL.
