The problem with me participating is that I can see both sides so I wouldn't sway the totals in anyway.

Thanks hun I was getting kind of thirsty. lol

HEHE. I second the 'Other' area where we can post other ways we make legit cash. For instance I use Consumer Opinion. It isn't much money but it takes little effort. They just email you when they have something instead of the constant refreshing browsers like on mturk.

Edit: And I KNOW that they actually pay out also. Very legit place.

By this I am voting for an other area but only for it being for other cash making methods that are legit. I'm not down for the 'her doggy pooped wherever' section.

Even though I initially thought this might be a good idea, I'll cast my lot in with the naysayers on this one and say no. There are lots of other forums for discussion of non-Turk related topics, and it'd probably be better for folks to use one of them rather than create a new sub-forum here.

I believe most of this could have been avoided. Athena, you didn't have to state you thought there were minions. Then I wouldn't have wondered "why" when it came to my friend. And then you wouldn't have had to say out loud why you don't like her. There are several people here I don't care for, but I treat most everyone the same. If I know I won't be able to change another's behavior, I refuse to let them know what it is that bothers me. I'm passive-aggressive and I know how things can be turned around. I also know that I'm not all that liked by some, either. Do I Care? Most of the time, no. When I do care i gtfo and go chill with people I do like.

The forum is about making money. Stuff is going to slip through the cracks and personalities are going to come out. Shit happens and most of the time no one really cares. That's the way it is. But the common theme here is that people are here to make money. Helping others promotes (I believe) a better turking environment. Yeah, I get people not wanting to share their fave requesters or only giving a heads up on a HIT if they're bored, etc. I'm not saying people are giving you their money...but overall people want to promote a better "work place"...

the irony of this all is that i can't do a god damned thing on mturk because my account's in suspension

I understand that with the increase in members from TN to here there's going to be a shift and things won't go as they've always gone - that's a good thing. If a forum gets stale, it dies. I just don't see things mirroring TN quite that much, even if it will make the place feel "homey"....

Oh my, look at the shit I've started. Maybe we should just start a thread about me.

First off, anti-Indian, really? Anti-Idiot, maybe. I'm not racist, I hate pretty much everyone. That's why I work at home. I happen to think I've taken great strides in realizing that people outside the US have limited options. I'm still not going to let them celebrate shitty work and/or scams without questioning it.

Second, I'm nobody's goddamn minion. I have my own mind and I think I speak it pretty clearly. I don't feel the need to hide anything because I think I'm right. I might change my mind if someone else has a valid argument, but until then I'm going to tell you 1.) what I'm sure I know, 2.) what I have heard to be true, and 3.) what I believe.

Finally, if you really don't like what I have to say -- here's a simple fix. Go to my profile. Under my big pretty picture that says "FUCK OFF" there's a button to "Add to Ignore List." Feel free to clicky clicky.

    Kisses!

I vote to make this the OT thread. Or the TN thread. Both "went there"...

My first thought was no. I'm here to work and help others work. Don't get me wrong, I have some turking pals and all, but when I have time to sit and turk it'd be nice to click on 'what's new' and find threads relevant to actual working. That's one of the things that's driving me nuts at TN...too much sifting through the list to find topics about actual turking.

This being said, I can see that there are times when it would be nice to have a place to randomly dabble in other stuff. I did that in the first TN forum here and there, and I did enjoy when I had time to just veg to read stlrfn's poetry or read funny stories or whatever.

Is there a way to have an everything subforum that somehow does not pop up in the 'what's new?' listings? If so, that would be perfect. If not, I vote no...

Oh, and I'm workasaurusrex at TN. I was hesitant to mention that up front here because I had some crap going on with my turk account but that's fixed now so whatever...

    :)

That's because no talk of actual turking or mturk is allowed at that forum now.

I remember you and like you, btw!

I vote for a single OT thread... like this one! Only better because I probably won't be there. Name it the chat thread -- Or get a chat room (Xat has free, fancy pants chat boxes with pretty colors you can buy)! That way actual Turking conversations don't get flooded out. And that could keep OT shit out of the threads. If you need to vent, hit the chat thread.

Also, the other money making site thread would be nice too. Single thread, with chatting to a minimum so it's easier for new members to go through.

I don't run the forum but I think sub-forums sound like a real pain in the ass, so I'm just saying what I think is ideal.

Aww, I am honored hun. As for the OT not showing up in the "what's new" listings that would be great!

What about a thread for OT that doesn't show up in 'New Posts' and also a section called'Where else to work' (or something like that) that we can share other legit, places we can make money at. I think this would be interesting since we are all interested in that for sure.

Athena, I love the enthusiasm, but it comes off a little strong. Specially from someone fresh from the other site. It'd be nice to chit chat but most of us, at least me, I'm here to make money, learn easier, faster ways to make money. You come off a little strong, sorry. I feel that as little as we communicate personally we already know each others personalities...come on Bootybitch, says it all. Me, Bertha, how many Bertha's do you know, the person with the the V for vendetta icon, the guy/gal from Michigan (Go Buckeyes, below the belt) says enough. I like that this site lets you know just enough. I don't want a site where groups, cliques, friends stick together. This site is like the Three Musketeers, cheesy but one for all and all for one. So as much as I'd like to know all of you better, what's here now works.

Hmmm Bertha, that makes me wonder... what do you know about me. Just curious. I often have pics of the peeps I talk to on the forums in my head and wonder if it is really what they are like.

I think you are reading too much into it. I'm just saying that what this forum has, works. I don't need a thread/forum to let me know more than I need to know about all of you. If you it took personally, sorry. If you need a place where you need to let people know who you are, where you live, what you stand for, what you watch on TV, etc..that's what social media is for. I wasn't trying to be rude, I was in no way saying that I know who each and everyone of you is....that was my point,...don't need to know but if you feel you have to let us know, go ahead. I just don't want this forum to turn into a clique, or an "I'll only help you, if you help me" type of forum.
