Is there a way to create a winner take all Hit? Meaning I want to create a HIT that has a task to be completed, such as find me the lowest priced item, then I want to pay the first (ad perhaps 2nd and 3rd) person who finds the best deals. Is there a Amazon compliance way to do this. In other words, what can I set the reward amount to since it will depend on what place the person comes in. I can't set it at ZERO because no one participates.

    Thank you!

You will have pay each worker for their time, so there should be a flat rate for each HIT. What you can do is then is issue a bonus payment to your top or top 3 submissions.

No, but you can personalize HIT's to only be acceptable by specific workers. For instance if I gave you my ID # you could set the HIT to only approve if I were the one who completed it.

You're going to gain a very bad reputation very quickly if you actually try to get workers to work without paying them for what they've already done. You're right, people won't work if the pay is zero, but it's not only that--the payment scheme you're proposing will make people very leery of doing your work at all. They will not only worry about how much and if they're going to be paid, but also would worry them about getting rejected, affecting their statistics and possibly their ability to work.

Every person's response was very insightful! It would seem that the way to do it is to offer a minimal reward of say $0.50 and then bonus the top people with a very lucrative reward if they are in the top three. Then their rejection rates are not a factor. They have the upside should they chose it, and everything is on the table. Eventually workers will catch-on that it's worth working extra hard to get the bonus. Also, the HIT directions might state a certain minimum to beat and if they don't think they can beat that minimum then they won't try to do the hit to begin with. Does that sound like a good plan?

I think that sounds like a really good plan.

That's a great plan, to be honest. At least you are upfront about it and there won't be a mass rejection.
