I can't believe that it's taken over 600 hits for me to encounter this.

A speaker is dictating punctuation. Bad punctuation, CW style-wise.

Not just commas and periods, but parentheses and paragraph breaks. The first paragraph they wanted was over 200 words long (about twice the guideline length)! In two minutes of speech they had only dictated three commas. THREE.

I have emailed support about this but since it's before 4am their time, I thought I'd ask here too. Has anyone come across this, and if so, what did you do? Was the customer always right?

The answer was use to use the speaker's punctuation, but add your own for readability.

Transcripts like that are exhausting. Extra attention required where you'd normally insert your own punctuation more or less on autopilot.

I think I'd probably toss it back into the pool unless there was a juicy premium. Thank you for doing them, though, so they didn't sit there for months like some of the HITS have.
