I would say it is not a single person bit a group. The work comes from campaigns at tomnod. When I want to work on a HIT I only see a white page, but no map This happens, cause mixed content is blocked in your browser by default. Look at this thread on how to activate it. How do I know what they want me to tag? The buttons on the left side contain example pictures. Simply click one of them to expand the sidebar and it brings up a brief description and example images. Should I use multiple tags or everything for its own? It depends. Some tags are big enough to work for multiple items. In general, it is better to tag every item you see for itself. I haven`t tagged anything in the HIT, am I doing something wrong? No, everything is fine. The images are taken via satellite and cover a large area. It happens that you do not find a single item to tag on multiple HITs. Just move on to the next map tile and look there. I`m not sure if an object matches the tags, should tag it or skip it? Requester response: What do the buttons on the right mean? 1: Your current progress in the HIT 2: Total map-tiles explored in a campaign 3: Total tags placed in a campaign 4: How many users agree on your tags Does the thumps-up button ever change? As you can see in the linked video, it does go up. You get agrees when other workers agree with your tag. In my mind they add the least popular campaigns to MTurk. Therefore, you shouldn`t expect to get high agreement ratings How is the bonus calculated? There is no general guideline to answer this. You will get a mail that looks like this: or like this The problem is the accuracy. Sometimes you achieve 100% with no tags and sometime you get a 0% for it. If you do good work you will get a decent bonus, at least. So far everything that comes to mind for now. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
Thanks for the video and instructions. Every time I accept the hit, a map never loads. I've tried it in FF and chrome, and all of my add-ons are up to date. Have any ideas on what the problem is? Thanks. P.S. I use to live in Darmstadt.
The problem is mixed content. Your browser shows a little shield at the left (FF) or the right (chrome) of the adressbar. simply click it and it wil work.
Nate here. I don't know if this is the best place to post this, but our bonusing system has had a bug the last few days, so we are working on a way to pay out bonuses to workers who deserved them over the last several batches of HITs. Stay tuned.
Thank you for this. I accepted a hit about a month ago and went through the training part. When it was done it started the hit, only all that came up was plain green background with a darker green square where the map should be. I couldn't tell if it was a satellite image of a big green area or if the map just wasn't there. But wasn't there was the top right informational icons or earnings area. There seemed to be no way to say next map or there's nothing here so I had to return the hit. I wouldn't mind trying it again except I've had too many returned hits so I can not chance it again. This was not a mixed content block problem. There was no white shield (firefox) and everything was there except the next map area.
sounds like server issues on their site. sometimes too many people jump on the HITs and servers slow down or even go totally down, nothing to worry about. waht really should concern you is your return rate. in my mind it is impossible to go that far down that you cannot work on HITs. i suggest you to increase your numbers by a good margin. but that`s not the topic of this thread
