I wouldn't be surprised at all that this kind of stuff might be happening. I am really astonished at how much animosity the other forums have against mturkforum. Just confirms my decision to not take part in those other communities.

    This is gold.

That really sucks. I know you want to stay an open forum but maybe there is a way to limit what people can do at the beginning of their membership. Have limits, like a probation. IDK. What these people are doing takes a lot of time and energy to do. The sad part is that it's all bad energy, very mean spirited, it's almost scary.

Andy, I think your site is awesome and everything they do, it all comes from envy. I wish there was an easier way for you to sort the trolls out.

wow what about this forum pissed him/her off that much to go write that
That's nuts.... and even when someone might slip up and say something they're not suppose to about a survey, people tell them about it and then the post is edited!

welp... guess i'll head back to the greatest hits thread now and continue cheating.

We have a saying here: "It is only the tree loaded with fruit that the people throw stones at."

I find it funny how as soon as all of this unfolds, the forum is hit with a new round of spam. Seems like a last ditch effort to me.

I seriously hate people like this. It's bad enough we have to deal with these... fine young people, but I personally hate when someone else has the nerve to call me a scammer. I need to make the money just like the next person. I left sites like TN because there simply is nothing to help newbs to the site. What do they want me to do, post random BS in every thread until I've groveled enough?

That's the beauty of MTF, it invites people in and helps them out regardless. That was why I joined. I lurked for a few days, but I joined when I realized that the site was actually helping rather than hindering my turking. I may not be on all the time, but I do try to contribute and keep people upbeat. Like most everyone else, when I see a violation, I mention it to the person and for the most part they edit their posts. There simply has to be some way to get away from people like this.

I love your site Andy, I've made some great friends on it and enjoy (for the most part) taking a part in seeing it grow. But the trolls are driving a lot of good people away. It's just something to consider.

One good way to look at it is that at least the trolls are driving your numbers up. I wonder if that has occurred to them. There have been several things I've Googled recently and links to this forum have come up. Not turkernation.

I found this site's link because it was #1 on Google... I tried to deal with TN a long time ago and it was a pain.

    http://turkrequesters.blogspot.ca/2012/12/unfortunate-reality-of-some-scamming.html

Taintturk, the turkopticon mod, and owner of that blog, has now removed all of my replies. Hmmm... and I received a private message today from a requester complaining that someone had emailed them about "cheating" occurring for one of their hits int he great hits thread. I briefly explained the situation and replied that it was likely the person emailing them that was, infact, the cheater.

Honestly, I would not doubt if the user posted the blog just so they could 1) create fake accounts here as they have before 2) post cheat information 3) email the requester and 4) SPAM their blog link in the email to the requester saying LOOK AT THIS BLOG and how they ALSO say it is a cheat site.

Crappy way to get some blog readers!

Anyway, this book is closed. Happy holidays!
