The past dozen HITs that I've put on mechanical turk have been flagged, removed and resulted in warnings. However I can't see how they violate the terms of service in any way. My account was suspended and then reinstated after review, which suggests that amazon agrees that my HITs were fine. However whatever flagging system they have automatically cuts down my HITs and I then have to manually get them reinstated, which is a huge hassle. After I got suspended/reinstated I submitted the bellow HIT which got taken down before anyone got to complete it. The only possible issue I could think of would be of copyright, however this clearly falls under fair use.

Here is the text of our HIT:

We need small sketches of four whales failing for an art project.

This is inspired by Twitter's fail whale. However we are not looking for copies of the fail whale. Instead we are looking for drawings that capture the same basic elements (whale in a net being carried by birds) but with little changes. For example, a whale that looks a bit different, birds that look a bit different, drawn from a different angle, change the birds into bees/airplanes/flies, add something riding the whale, change the environment, there are lots of possibilities.

What is important is that we get four pictures of whales that have some clear connection to the twitter fail whale. They each need to be different, no copies. Interesting and cool are important. The more creative the better, here is some inspiration.

    1. Now, go to http://ababasoft.com/draw/picture.php?parent=327

    2. Draw four whales failing using the tools and colors provided.

    3. When you are done hit the send button (shaped like a letter in the lower right) scroll down and send it to 'pelicancement@gmail.com' submit the same name in the box bellow and in the email to get credit for the whales!

Note: If you encounter an error or have a question or problem with the HIT don't hesitate to email us at pelicancement@gmail.com with 'mturk whale' in the subject line and we will respond within 12 hours

I am not too sure about the copyright aspect, but I believe asking workers to email directly must be causing the account warnings. Can't you find a way to have the Hit submitted via mturk?
